We are seeking an experienced Emergency Veterinarian to join our rapidly expanding integrated veterinary healthcare system in Puerto Rico. We welcome both board-certified or residency-trained Emergency & Critical Care specialists (DACVECC), as well as experienced DVMs with a strong background in emergency and urgent care medicine.
PRVet is an integrated veterinary community that combines:

Position Overview
We are looking for a confident, collaborative emergency veterinarian who is passionate about:
- Emergency triage, stabilization, and management of acute and critically ill patients
- Delivering decisive, compassionate care in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Collaborating with general practitioners, oncologists, and a growing specialty team
- Mentoring clinical teams and helping advance emergency medicine in Puerto Rico
You will work within an integrated network alongside:
- Emergency and urgent care clinicians
- General practice veterinarians
- Veterinary oncology specialists
- A growing specialty referral team
This position offers the opportunity to manage a diverse emergency caseload, practice with the support of an integrated veterinary network, and help develop the next generation of emergency and specialty care in Puerto Rico.
Qualifications
Candidate Profile:
- DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for veterinary licensure in Puerto Rico
- Board certification or residency training in Emergency & Critical Care (DACVECC) is highly valued, but not required
- Experienced emergency DVMs with demonstrated proficiency in urgent and emergency case management are strongly encouraged to apply
- Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and commitment to high-quality, compassionate medicine
Preferred:
- Significant emergency, urgent care, or critical care experience
- Comfort with triage, stabilization, hospitalization, and complex medical cases
- Interest in mentorship, clinical development, and multidisciplinary collaboration
