Technical Service Veterinarian will plan, implement and champion opportunities through and/or with Virbac and distributor sales people, veterinarians,
industry leaders, colleges and universities to enhance the image of Virbac and increase sales. Collaborate with other departments within Virbac on
matters of strategic and tactical importance.
Area of accountability no.1: Primary resource for technical information to support efforts of the field sales force
Main activities:
work with the territory sales managers on sales calls and other customer interactions
be a resource of technical information for field sales people and customers regarding Virbac products
work with Sales Management to plan, develop and implement technical learning opportunities for Territory Sales Managers
research and write technical bulletins as needed
participate in Distributor sales or training meetings as requested
Expected results: Ensure that each Territory Sales Manager, with guidance from Sales Management, has appropriate technical support for their sales efforts and appropriate opportunity to enhance their technical knowledge of Virbac products, thus enhancing their ability to increase sales.
Area of accountability no.2: Focus a majority of time and effort on support of sales to general practice veterinarians
Main activities:
working with Territory Sales Managers establish professional relationship with key clinics and veterinarians
respond to questions and inquiries related to Virbac products from veterinarians
identify opportunities for and provide recommendations about use of Virbac products
assist and participate in planning and presentation of In Clinic Seminars and other meetings
provide support to key accounts by conducting presentations as requested
Expected results: Help Virbac become the trusted source of information for general practice veterinarians
Area of accountability no.3: Targeted activities to strengthen relationship with Specialists and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs)
Main activities:
work with Regional Sales people, FTSV co-workers and others to plan and implement specific activities to establish and strengthen the relationship with Specialists and KOLs in assigned area
keep Specialists and KOLs informed of Virbac new products or updates pertinent to their areas of interest
provide input and feedback to marketing on specific items that impact the marketing of a product or program
provide support to Virbac Vet University programs as required to increase university and student awareness of Virbac
Expected results: Broad support of Virbac products and programs by Specialists and KOLs
Area of accountability no.4: Pharmacovigilance
Main activities:
initiate and/or follow up on (as required) reports to/from Virbac Veterinary Technical Product Support (VTPS) regarding potential product defects, potential adverse events or suspected lack of efficacy situations in which our products were used, whether within- or extra-label and whether involving animals or humans
Expected results: Help maintain Virbac compliance with requirements and guidelines from the various regulatory agencies to which Virbac reports
Job-related skills required to complete activities:
Education: DVM with valid US license to practice veterinary medicine in the United States Strong interpersonal skills. Must be able to relate to a wide spectrum of Virbac employees and customers. Flexibility. Must be able to handle high work loads and unforeseen Virbac needs.
Willing and able to travel 50-75% of the time. Strong communication skills. Must be able to communicate at a level appropriate to the audience. IT: Highly competent in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Languages: English fluency. Speak and understand Spanish and/or French a plus.

Work closely with the Regional Sales Manager to plan and implement needed activities to provide appropriate technical support of the sales force to increase sales Work with Territory Sales Managers to maximize time and impact with customers, KOLs and Specialists
Optional: Training / Experience necessary to fulfill the job
Total number of years' experience required to fulfill the role: 5 years clinical experience in a small animal clinic. Additional experience in field technical services with small animal-focused animal health products considered a plus.
