Compensation Data

This position offers a base salary typically between $254,000 and $395,000.  The position may be eligible for a role specific variable or performance based bonus and or other compensation elements.  For an overview of our benefits please click here.

Description

The Executive Director, Compensation and Global Mobility Services will lead the US Compensation and Mobility Services function for all BI US OPUs. Serves as the senior compensation professional for Boehringer Ingelheim’s U.S. operations and as the primary architect in the design and development of strategic compensation programs. Develops, directs and recommends compensation programs that provide a competitive level of pay and are consistent with BI organizational philosophy and business needs and helps to establish BI as an employer of choice. Provides overall compensation direction to all BI U.S. operations (approximately 8,500 employees across 3 operating units (OPU) and Group Functions). Partners with Corporate C&B and Global C&B Colleagues to help design global processes and create global solutions. Is also in charge of providing centralized global mobility management for 3 departments - expatriate management, domestic relocation and immigration services for all BI U.S. OPUs. Provides oversight to all programs and processes within these departments and accountable for vendor management. Leads team of total 9 direct reports. Position is based out of Ridgefield, CT.

Requirements

  • Bachelor level degree from an accredited institution
  • Master degree (e.g. MBA, MSc) is preferred.
  • Requires ten to fifteen (10-15) years of experience in HR with significant experience in the design and implementation of compensation, and reward programs including knowledge of employee and executive compensation pay programs, salary survey administration, base pay and bonus administration, performance management design and implementation, long term incentives, etc.
  • Four to six (4-6) years of experience leading employees and leading projects.
  • International exposure in daily business (> 50% of international business/customers /staff) greater than one and a half (>1.5) years.
  • Contemporary knowledge and experience with various concepts of compensation and administration is also very important.
  • Experience in the management of multiple outside vendors and excellent skills to set up and coordinate processes and interfaces to external vendors.
  • Experience to work across multiple cultures worldwide.
  • Extensive knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, SAP and Data Warehouse.
  • Superior interpersonal skills and excellent customer service.
  • Requires ability to influence and negotiate at senior levels of the organization as well as with HR staffs throughout the organization.

Desired Experience, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience in an HR Business Partner role is also highly desirable.
  • Work experience in a Corporate / Headquarter role in addition to HR Operations function is desirable.

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
