Job Description

As a Janitorial Specialist II, you will be responsible for performing a variety of cleaning tasks in order to keep IDEXX Facilities a high quality, clean, orderly, safe and secure work environment for IDEXX employees, customers and visitors. To ensure that IDEXX Facilities infrastructure, processes, and services meet the evolving needs of the business, we will be a strategic partner and service provider of choice for the business teams. Assist Team Leaders and Supervisor with scheduling of special requests and allocation of available labor to cover for shortages created by sickness and vacations. Is proficient in the cleaning of all area types. Complete all documentation accurately of cleaning task sheets, schedules and projects. Ability to operate floor care equipment used to clean and maintain all types of hard floors, carpeted surfaces, and upholstery. Identify and report problems, assist in routine problem solving and troubleshooting of equipment. Complete basic preventative maintenance and complete clean up procedures for supplies and cleaning equipment. Store all equipment, materials and supplies properly. Mentor, coach and/or train others as needed. Uses experience and knowledge to identify and recommend process improvements Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required. Basic Computer skills in order to complete online training and access information relevant to career and employee life. Ability to follow all safety rules and requirements including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. 3 + year’s related experience in the Cleaning Services in a similar work environment and/or a combination of education and experience. Basic Computer skills to complete online training using IDEXX online training tools. Complete assignments with minimal supervision Ability to read as well as understand, and complete written and oral instructions in English. Good organizational skills and detail oriented Ability to follow all safety rules and requirements including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Related education/certification preferred, including certifications for hard floor and carpet maintenance and basic technical cleaning skills. Work under moderate supervision with latitude for independent judgment. Solves problems independently and as part of a team, and assumes responsibility as appropriate Communicate effectively and engage with co-workers and customers as well as provide quality customer service with internal and external customers. Ability to work productively alone or effectively function in a team environment Schedule: Monday-Friday Hours 5pm-1:30am. Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as required. Work Environment: A safe and pleasant work environment is a key objective within Facilities. Therefore, we will provide and require you to utilize the safety equipment as needed, comply with established safety policies & departmental procedures and maintain a clean & orderly work areas. Ability to stand for extended periods of time is required. Frequently required to stand, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Average walking of 3 to 5 miles per day. Ability to climb step ladders and work at heights above ground level May be required to lift, move and carry up to 50 pounds.
