Position Description:

The Master Planner is responsible for reviewing demand and creating production plans (Master Production Schedule) to meet that demand.

The Master Scheduler is responsible for providing strategic and tactical scheduling support for the Clinton Manufacturing site. The role is responsible for creating/maintaining a production plan, representing supply chain & leading cross functional teams, and representing supply chain on product launch teams.

The Master Planner sets both short and long-range plans and provides data for business needs as required. A keen understanding of supply chain management and production/inventory management concepts is needed.

Basic Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to influence both internal and external resources.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive Planning related initiatives to positive outcomes.
  • Ability to direct workstreams, resources, and alignment activities toward departmental, site, and company goals.
  • Overall manufacturing/business knowledge.
  • Ability to create and/or modify processes or procedures to coincide with best practices.
  • Strong Problem-Solving skills and techniques.
  • Demonstrated strong documentation skills.
  • Demonstrated strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High proficiency with computer systems.
  • BS degree or 10 years Supply Chain equivalent experience.

Additional Preferences:

  • Supply chain methodology understanding; APICS certification.
  • SAP experience

Functions, Duties, Tasks:

Planning

  • Review product demand regularly and provide production schedule to meet demand.
  • Prepare monthly production plan for product families & present at R&OP.
  • Maintain schedule and capacity plans and review with Supply Chain and Production stakeholders.
  • Liaison with demand management and Affiliate resources.
  • Perform tasks within SAP, creating production plans, reviewing inventory, etc.
  • Perform what-if analysis for business.
  • Work with Customer Service on any expected shortages or over-production.
  • Lead and/or participate in production meetings and shop floor meetings.
  • Align with capacity team to build a master production schedule that is achievable.
  • Work with local Procurement as needed to verify constant and quality supply of product.
  • Manage triangularization of supply when needed.
  • Manage PPM changes for assigned products and manage inventory accordingly.

Inventory Management

  • Provide support and assistance as needed for inventory discrepancies.
  • Monitor inventory levels of produced materials and help in dispositioning SMOI inventory.
  • Assist Global Supply Chain in developing accurate and manageable inventory targets.

Problem Solving

  • Assist as needed in deviation investigation.
  • Initiate trouble tickets for SAP as needed.
  • Triage site supply issues and provide Crisis Management support for planning and production related site issues.

General Tasks and Continuous Improvement Activities

  • Assist in improvement of business practices or tactical processes in SAP.
  • Participate in Planning power user forums for SAP.
  • Aid in Planning metrics data gathering and reporting as directed by CORRS and create action plans for improvement.
  • Assist in development of business plans.
  • Initiate trouble tickets for SAP and work with COE to resolve issues.

Other Information:

  • 8-hour shift; some travel may be required.
