POSITION SUMMARY

This role will be a member of the Global BioDevice (GBD) Commercial team at Zoetis, primarily working with the senior marketing manager, who reports to the Vice-President.

Embrex BioDevices, from Zoetis, were the first-ever in ovo vaccination technology placed in a poultry hatchery to vaccinate against diseases affecting the broiler industry. Thirty years later, that same hatchery is still using Embrex BioDevices, demonstrating our leadership, strong performance, and unmatched support to our customers. Globally, there are more than 650 devices across the world that vaccinate nearly 20 billion eggs per year.

Driving new business opportunities for the Embrex BioDevice portfolio through customer segmentation is the primary role of this position. The marketing intern will be responsible for working with sales, marketing, business analytics, in-market poultry leadership, and an external agency to develop and implement segmentation strategies that align with in-market needs. This includes tactical marketing activities tailored for the customer base and overseeing and coordinating marketing activities that require the ability to work with and influence cross-departmental operational teams without direct authority.

Additionally, the marketing intern will gain foundational aspects of marketing for our Embrex-brand portfolio of devices including: pricing evaluation and programs, commercialization, field trials and market optimization.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages the completion of existing hatchery account information within Salesforce for all International markets
  • Works with in-market colleagues and agency to promote adoption of Salesforce lead opportunity model
  • Develops segmentation strategies, including marketing content that align with business goals
  • Helps drive all phases of execution for segmentation strategies including tracking results and reporting outcomes
  • Works with markets to identify additional prospective customers to add to Salesforce database
  • Manages a dedicated budget of $20,000.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Applicants should be rising juniors or above (undergraduate and graduate) and currently enrolled in a business program within an accredited college or university. A marketing or communications major is preferred.

TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

  • Proficient understanding of Salesforce and/or customer relationship management (CRM) platforms

  • Willingness to occasionally work outside normal business hours to accommodate time-zones

PHYSICAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to work in an office location approximately 50% of the time
  • Office location will require following all local and company COVID-19 guidelines

Work environment may include field rides to customer sites and farm operations including (but not limited to) poultry hatcheries
