Description
This individual will be responsible for managing a team of individuals that will drive Payor Experience and pull/push-through strategies through the National Account Teams, Regional Account teams and Federal Account Teams. This includes leading team members responsible for all pull/push-through enablement activities across the portfolio and providing thought-leadership on innovative Payor solutions. The Director will oversee and lead the development and implementation of the marketing (including non-personal) and selling strategies and resources for National, Regional and Federal accounts by providing input and direction on the vision and mission in the evolution of the Payor Market Strategy. Additionally, they will ensure that department goals are aligned with management´s goals and priorities. - This role is based on-site at our Ridgefield, CT location with hybrid flexibility of 2-3 days per week on-site.
Duties & Responsibilities
- National: Key channel marketing partner for the National Account team. Create master pull/push-through strategic plan. Create and execute a strategic plan for branded push/pull through planning/execution, measurement, training, access messaging on field platforms. Lead pull-through enablement through proactive planning and timely execution for Access pull-through opportunities. Plan for negative formulary changes and execute strategies to meet or exceed forecasts.
- Customer Experience: Blend digital and non-digital channels to maximize the access experience. Work with insights to drive segmentation and archetyping that supports delivering CX strategy and execution.
- Develop deep customer insights through execution of advisory boards, commissioning Primary & Secondary MR, sales advisory teams and field insights. Make insights available to field teams. Share CX best practices early. Stay current with CX Trends and how it impacts our approach to Payor access.
- National, Regional & Federal: Provide Market Access Directors, Federal director and their teams with unbranded resources that allow integration with branded resources from Brand teams. Oversee development of tactical plans to ensure attainment of annual goals.
- Ensure continuous review of product and market performance, competitive intelligence, field force capacity and needs, market research to identify key growth opportunity and hurdles facing National & Federal Accounts.
- Selected regional payor accountabilities related to resource development and execution in partnership with the Payor Marketing Team, payor sales and other stakeholders.
- Leader responsible to ongoing execution of organizational pull/push-through processes, including prioritization and goal setting alignment. These processes include ongoing goal assessment and priority evaluation based on changing business drivers. As part of the continuous improvement, the leader will ensure measurement analysis and reporting are completed, working with A&I. This measurement will include assessment of promotional mix (specifically digital/non-personal tactics) to support future implementation planning. Supporting organizational learning and business planning cycles with insights tied to performance and execution of pull-through strategies.
- Leader will seek and prioritize internal/external capability opportunities to advance organizational ability to successfully execute pull/push-through strategies. Capabilities include digital tools, internal execution platforms, incentives, training and other key components of pull-through execution. Leader will be responsible for championing new solutions to advance the organizational capability and lead implementation and measurement through the team, across the organization.
- Ensures that the team is staffed with qualified, highly motivated talent. Inspires ownership, accountability, initiative, and engagement within the entire team by regularly communicating BI´s vision, business objectives, performance outcomes, and future action steps. Actively develops people within their organization, and supports learning opportunities and encourages others to own their careers and take full advantage of BI career development offerings. Drives performance management of all personnel including all disciplinary action to ensure personnel are meeting or exceeding expectations in their roles. Accountable for ensuring team members optimize the effectiveness of the account team and other customer facing teams. Responsible for managing and allocation of the budget for the Payor Solutions team activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor´s degree from an accredited institution required.
- MBA preferred.
- Ten (10) years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including five (5) years US pharmaceutical sales/marketing experience, market access experience or other relevant experience.
- Experience working with National Accounts, Health systems and Payors.
- Experience working directly with digital partners to develop and execute initiatives strongly preferred (e.g. Google, third party media providers, social media community platforms, etc.).
- Experience in guiding and integrating digital analytics and driving metrics based optimization strongly preferred
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Understanding of market access environment and impact to prescring process. understanding of utilization management tools driven by payors to control costs and formularies.
- Demonstrated people management and leadership.

- Demonstrated ability to achieve results in a highly matrixed organization.

- History of successful performance.
- Ability to travel (may include overnight travel).
