  • Responsibilities

    The US Pet Health Sales Training Advisor will work collaboratively with the Director of Sales Force Enablement and Training to facilitate training needs for the sales force within the US Vet Business Unit. They will contribute to sales success by supporting new hire onboarding, enhancing product knowledge, improving overall selling skills, and supporting the ongoing development needs of the sales team. This position will play an important role in the overall planning and continued success of the Vet Business Unit.

  • Work with the Director of Sales Force Enablement and Training to help develop and establish sales force training.

  • Coordinate with Regional Sales Training Program including communication development and execution, creating resources for the group while developing consistent expectations.

  • Design and facilitate live and virtual new hire and tenured representative training as needed including onboarding, facilitation, pre-work, organization, and post new hire training follow-up.

  • Effective utilization of learning databases and programs (Learning Management System content, gamification programs, etc.)

  • Write technical content that maximizes learning with flexibility to deliver virtually or in-person.

  • Train Consulting Veterinarians and District Sales Managers on proper delivery of created technical content that facilitates sales representative knowledge and string sales results.

  • Deliver creative training concepts to maximize adult learning that leads to improved sales results.

  • Develop systems or processes for continuous training improvement.

  • Elevate training standards and improve Net Promoter Scores relative to competitive companies.

  • Assist in developing and executing the US Pet Health Training Journey and training curriculum.

  • Evaluate available materials & assist in creation of new materials where needed (typically study guides, training worksheets, knowledge checks, eModules & workshops.)

  • Create and facilitate learning evaluations with action plans to support individual or group skill development.

  • Identify knowledge gaps for the sales team and aid in developing creating solutions through collaboration with appropriate teams.

  • Assist in achieving other Elanco training business priorities as needed.

  • Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree required.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in sales training, technical writing or learning and development.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical sales or related field.

  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Elanco does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position.

  • Additional Skills/Preferences

  • Ability to effectively communicate complex and/or technical information to a broad range of audiences.

  • Excellent written and oral communication / presentation skills.

  • Proficiency with learning management systems, PowerPoint and Teams.

  • Strong detail orientation skills.

  • Ability to successfully manage complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and interdependencies.

  • Analytical skills – ability to draw information from data and convert it to evidence-based decisions.

  • Ability to make decisions within the context of uncertainty and ambiguity.
