This role combines technical product knowledge, clinical expertise, and commercial acumen to drive product success across its lifecycle — from market strategy and distributor partnerships to client service and post-sale support.

The incumbent will serve as the subject matter expert for all surgical product lines, strengthening relationships with key distributors and large-volume clients, while providing data-driven insights to guide sales strategy and product development.

This role will spend approximately 50–75% of their time managing client services — including product complaints, damaged goods, and liability claims — and will act as the bridge between the customer, sales, operations, and compliance teams to ensure customer satisfaction and regulatory adherence.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead strategic planning and management of KVP’s surgical product portfolio.
  • Develop and execute product roadmaps and go-to-market strategies to achieve revenue and profitability goals.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for distributor partners and high-volume customers, ensuring a positive and informed relationship.
  • Handle escalated client service issues such as product complaints, damaged goods, or liability concerns, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Collaborate with internal teams on product compliance, regulatory updates, and quality control matters.
  • Analyze product performance, sales data, and market trends; prepare reports and presentations for leadership and the sales team.
  • Support training initiatives for internal staff and distributor partners on surgical product knowledge and best practices.
  • Partner with marketing to develop educational and promotional materials tailored to veterinary surgical settings.
  • Identify and pursue new product opportunities within the surgical product category.
  • Monitor competitive activity and market developments to inform strategy and maintain leadership in the category.
  • Maintain travel readiness for customer visits, trade shows, and key distributor meetings (approximately 25%).

MINOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the sales and marketing team with clinical insights for campaigns and presentations.
  • Collaborate with Quality and Regulatory Affairs to ensure adherence to applicable product standards and veterinary industry guidelines.
  • Participate in industry events, trade shows, and educational seminars to represent KVP.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB

  • Bachelor’s degree in animal science, veterinary technology, biology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in animal health, preferably in a clinical or surgical environment (e.g., veterinary technician or surgical assistant).
  • Proven success in product management, distributor relations, or technical sales within the animal health or medical device industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable strategies.
  • Experience managing client complaints and product liability claims preferred.
  • Regulatory or product compliance experience is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and data visualization tools; Salesforce or HubSpot experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and current travel documentation required.
