Job Description




Responsible for supporting the Private Label Brand Manager in the design and implementation of effective marketing strategies to grow Durvet brands and increase customer engagement in the marketplace.


  • Assist in the development of new Durvet, Peak Marketing, and VetTek labeled products
  • Develop timelines for all new projects / new product launches
  • Conduct research to identify market trends and target customers’ preferences
  • Help create marketing plans to increase brand awareness and engagement
  • Review packaging and positioning of products and suggest improvements
  • Research competition and identify opportunities for growth
  • Develop and maintain strong customer and vendor relationships
  • Assist in establishing goals and managing rebate opportunities with vendors
  • Manage and negotiate vendor line margins
  • Perform competitive analysis regarding products, promotions, pricing strategies and positioning
  • Assist in developing and defining key elements (pricing, sales strategy, communication strategy, etc.) of the marketing plan
  • Develop and implement marketing campaigns in conjunction with Marketing Manager based on knowledge of portfolio, market segments, profitability expectations, product cost and market conditions
  • Propose plans for lifecycle management of product lines, as well as plans to rationalize the portfolio where appropriate
  • Participate in departmental meetings and provide updates on activities
  • Create project timelines for assigned vendors, products, and programs
  • Present marketing strategies and opportunities to Private Label Brand Manager and other management as required
  • Assist with establishing product and marketing forecast to be communicated to and reviewed with purchasing team
  • Provides the data to prepare and update sales forecasts for existing and new product lines
  • Validate and consolidate sales forecasts in support of purchasing team
  • Identify the impact of key external markets and competitive developments and trends
  • Assist in regulatory compliance and issue resolution as needed
  • Utilize Focus reports to target and analyze market penetration of key products and lines
  • Work with purchasing and sales teams to manage short-dated or slow-moving inventory
  • Performs other assigned duties as may be required in meeting company objectives


  1. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or Agriculture related discipline
  2. 3 or more years of marketing/sales or product management
  3. Proficient in MS Office applications, Teams, and Asana
  4. Minimum of 5 years animal health industry experience preferred; non-related areas considered
  5. Ability to solve problems and seek solutions with minimal supervision
  6. High attention to detail
  7. Must be able to strictly adhere to timelines
  8. Collaborate and effectively communicate with various teams within the company
  9. Animal health industry experience - experience in a sales and distribution background a plus
  10. Must possess strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to perform in a fast-paced environment
  11. Overnight travel as required to support Durvet activities


  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to read computer screens, written documents, and email.
