Job Description
Position Summary
Daily testing of samples received from production. Timely completion of tests to meet the established testing time. Following GMP documentation guidelines. Basic problem solving skills and demonstrate trouble shooting ability. Contribute to the teams productivity goals. The colleague should have the ability to follow detailed instructions. Lastly, the successful candidate will be expected to direct and prioritize tasks to ensure that tests and records are completed in an accurate and timely manner providing reliable results, thus ensuring timely product delivery.
Position Responsibilities
- Test in-process bacterin samples, blended vaccines and final containers for all applicable assays utilizing good aseptic practices with no supervision. Testing may include (but not limited to): ELISAs, inactivations, viable counts, purity testing, extraneous agents testing, PCR, DNAs, etc.
- Ensure Quality and compliance according to all applicable assays utilizing good aseptic practices.
- Maintain testing schedules and reagent supply
- Completion of documentation following cGMP guidelines
- Clean and maintain lab equipment, instrumentation and facility
- Follow all Zoetis Quality Standards, Policies and Procedures
- Provide minimum input for laboratory investigations (LIR), minimal project support
- Pipette work
- Preparation of media and reagents
- Participation in Media Fill inspections
- Maintain a solid understanding of and proficiency with software packages used within the QC workgroup
- Assist with inspection preparation and walk-throughs
- Follow Safety practices
- Inform QC management of testing issues (i.e. no tests, unsatisfactory results)
- Ensure that testing completed is properly documented and follows written methods.
Education and Experience
- BA/BS STEM Degree or AA with 1 year experience.
- General knowledge of the following software programs: Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
- Willingness to positively embrace change and flexibility in adjusting to changing priorities
- Strong attention to detail, ability to work well independently and as a part of a team, and ability to work effectively with people at all levels within the organization.
- Gain Profiency in 50% of the testing in a specified area.
- Able to follow detailed instructions with coaching
- Knowledge of Basic GLP requirements.
- Basic Problem solving skills and troubleshooting abiltity.
Physical Position Requirements
- Must be able to walk or stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to reach above shoulder level, bend/stoop, kneel, push/pull, and handle/grip frequently.
- Must be able to work scheduled 40 hours with the ability to work overtime as needed.
- Frequent lifting and carrying of product weighing 5 to 25 lbs
- Regular reaching, bending, stooping, and twisting
- Repetitive motion and substantial movement of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
