JOB TITLE: RESEARCH SCIENTIST-PK/PD Study Coordinator

(Fixed Term: 3.5 Years)

Location: Fort Collins, CO

A great opportunity to be part of the Zoetis Incubator of Northern Colorado (ZINC) at Colorado State University! The Zoetis Incubator is seeking an experienced pharmacokinetics-pharmacodynamics (PK/PD) study coordinator to join our research and development team. This position requires a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual that will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of in vivo PK/PD studies of protein therapeutics developed for the treatment of canine and feline diseases.

The successful candidate should have at least 3-5 years of relevant experience working as a PK/PD scientist. Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills are essential.

Please note: This position is for a fixed term of 3.5 years.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate all aspects of in vivo PK/PD studies in multiple veterinary species for large molecule (protein) therapeutics, including writing protocols, reviewing procedures with animal technicians, arranging shipment of drug supplies and samples, and reviewing raw data for accuracy.
  • Collaborate with external organizations (CROs) to ship samples and required reagents, monitor the progress of analytical assay results, and review raw data.
  • Collaborate with bioanalytical team to forecast analytical requirements for projects and assess performance of analytical assays (immunoassays and LC/MS assays).
  • Work collaboratively with PK/PD scientists and multidisciplinary teams to prioritize studies and projects in line with the strategic direction of the team.
  • Review study results with PK/PD scientists and write study reports. May conduct PK analyses.
  • Review accuracy of raw data and study reports

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Educational background: BS or MS (Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Animal Science, or related discipline)
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of relevant experience. Experience in the pharmaceutical industry highly desirable.
  • Highly detail-oriented self-starter who is able to prioritize work and work efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Prior experience with in vivo studies, especially PK studies, is highly desired.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Working knowledge of analytical methodology for large molecule and small molecule analyses, including ligand binding assays (immunoassays) and LC/MS/MS assays is highly desirable.
  • Prior experience with GLP studies highly desirable.
