Description: Subject Matter Expert (SME)/Process Lead for designing as well as transforming, analyzing and reporting complex studies/projects for BIAH clinical development and research programs clinical trials that represent new challenges and for which project and therapeutic knowledge is not given, or such as mega trials/meta-analyses or new indications/modalities, and for complex international projects. Subject Matter Expert (SME)/Process Lead for designing as well as transforming, analyzing and reporting of other data that represent new challenges from the infectious disease/noninfectious disease/parasiticide product clinical life cycle process like registries and real-world data bases. If applicable, supports the clinical product life cycle process as a Clinical Biometrics Product Owner up to the level of Therapeutic Area/Modality/assets. Duties & Responsibilities: Present compelling validated stories regarding complex data science/statistical aspects to Biometrics colleagues, other professionals within and outside of BI and laymen. Fosters innovative digital approaches to produce sophisticated, intelligent optimization solutions, innovative processes and predictive models. Lead/guide other colleagues, internal and external customer and external providers on data science related tasks. Ensure data transformation and analysis specifications to ensure completeness, correctness and adherence to department guidelines and SOPs as well as to applicable GxP requirements. Lead cross-functional BI internal working-groups and drive/plan relevant data science aspects. Participate in external working groups. Facilitates and ensures cross-functional and team-based working within BIAH Clinical Biometrics and with the rest of the company. Fulfils tasks of other functions as needed and possible. Contributes to cross-functional- and team-based thinking. Lead a team of Biostatisticians and apply a high degree of statistical expertise to advance and influence clinical programs from a statistical perspective. Mentor and develop members of the group. Ensure training for team members. Ensure understanding within group of strategies, accountabilities; have processes in place to ensure timeliness, compliance and quality of statistical and programming deliverables according to project plans for all studies and projects. Serve as the primary point of contact for contractors and handle contract details. Contribute to departmental administration; execute financial responsibility with regard to departmental budget. Ensure that work performed is conducted in a safe and compliant manner. Maintain proper records in accordance with policies. Collaborate with management, team and stakeholders to set and achieve project goals. Requirements: Bachelor of Science (BSc), Master of Science (MSc) or Doctoral Degree (PhD) in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field (Psychology, Data Science, Finance, etc). PhD: 6 years within the pharmaceutical industry, CROs, regulatory authorities or academic institutions; MSc: 10 years within the pharmaceutical industry, CROs, regulatory authorities or academic institutions; Bachelor: minimum 10 years of data science experience. Working experience might be partially compensated by broad and deep topic-specific knowledge. Eligibility Requirements: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction. Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required). Must be 18 years of age or older.
