Position Summary

The Reliability Engineer position works to develop, refine, and implement preventive/predictive maintenance programs in a systematic, data-based, and professional manner to support the Lincoln site manufacturing efforts. Includes coordinating all program aspects with engineering, equipment owner, and maintenance to ensure the program is properly endorsed and implemented by applicable stakeholders.

Position Responsibilities

  • Take the lead in ensuring overall reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, and facilities.
  • Develop reliability centered maintenance programs to improve the operational efficiency/effectiveness of systems supporting the site’s manufacturing efforts.
  • Implement predictive measures/analysis and condition based monitoring programs that reduce the number of equipment failures and minimizes the effects of those failures.
  • Support the site’s goals for Right First Time and Continuous Improvement.
  • Participate in the design and approval of new installations to ensure the required level of maintainability and reliability.
  • Analyze current and historical equipment performance data to determine and recommend solutions to chronic problems.
  • Define, develop, and/or refine preventive maintenance and calibration procedures for new and existing equipment.
  • Contribute to specialized departmental teams that support Sustainability, Transformation, and Lean initiatives.
  • Interface extensively with the Zoetis Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for data input and report generation.

Organizational Relationships

Reports to the Manager of Engineering Systems as a part of Lincoln’s Engineering, Maintenance, and Utilities division. Works with internal team members as well as cross-functional teams throughout the site and across the Zoetis worldwide network.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s in Engineering, Science or closely related field required.
  • Prefer professional certification in Reliability/Maintenance engineering.
  • 2+ years of experience performing Reliability and/or Maintenance Engineering processes.
  • Prefer experience in Active Biological Ingredient, Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient, or Drug Product manufacturing environment.

Technical Skills and Competencies Required

  • Demonstrated ability to plan and organize work and resources.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage a variety of tasks at one time and bring them

to completion on schedule.

  • Demonstrated ability to interact with all levels within the department, all levels of other

departments, consultants, contractors, and suppliers.

  • Demonstrated effective use of available software and tools to communicate effectively to all levels of the
  • Experience in technical writing.
  • Experience with SAP based CMMS computer systems.
  • Understanding of cGMPS, USDA regulations, Zoetis Quality Standards, and Good Engineering Practices.

  • SAFELY work in an industrial environment,
  • Physical conditions include lifting, sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Occasional weekend/off-shift work as needed.
  • Valid drivers’ license may be required.
