Your Role: Quality Control Technician – Virology

Performs bio-analytical methods (immunological, in vivo, microbiological, molecular biological, or virological) for various Bio QC tests on raw materials, in-process, release or stability samples in compliance with 9CFR, EU and VICH regulatory guidelines, Outlines of Production and Special Outlines. Initiates, executes and completes assays as per validated procedures and within Quality and Compliance guidelines and communicates testing, compliance and/or scheduling issues to supervisor.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Execute and Document Laboratory Testing: Perform routine assays, prepare reagents, calculate and review results, and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring accurate and compliant data.

  • Process Improvement & Training: Write laboratory investigations, revise Standard Methods and SOPs, and train colleagues on procedures to uphold quality standards and efficiency.

  • Project Leadership & Reporting: Coordinate and lead internal projects, including reagent validation, and prepare comprehensive reports and summaries for various stakeholders.

  • Problem-Solving & Collaboration: Apply advanced troubleshooting skills, contribute innovative solutions, and serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for cross-functional teams.

  • Technical Tool Proficiency: Utilize essential software such as Word, Excel, SAP, and Veeva for daily operations, data management, and documentation.

What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):

  • B.S. in a relevant scientific discipline (preferred), or AA Degree + 4 years of relevant experience, or High School Diploma/GED with 8 years of relevant experience.

  • Knowledge of basic scientific principles and techniques.

  • Ability to perform tasks following applicable methods and procedures with moderate supervision.

  • Good understanding of operations in immediate area and basic understanding of applicable regulatory requirements.

  • Ability to make routine decisions within the scope of responsibilities with guidance.

  • Ability to effectively communicate in a clear, concise and appropriate manner.

  • Ability to document results and data clearly and accurately.
