Job Description

The Roswell Product Support – Chemistry Team is looking for a motivated and creative scientist to aid in the improvement and scale up of their manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have manufacturing experience in the food/pharma/fine chemistry industry. The individual will participate on a technically focused team, execute experiments and/or follow standard protocols at the laboratory bench to inform decisions or recommendations. Will use advanced knowledge to analyze, interpret or make deductions from varying facts or circumstances. Will also prepare solutions and reagents, communicate and present to colleagues. Will be self-motivated and able to work autonomously. What you can expect in this role: Prepares materials, performs experiments, gathers data, carries out analysis and reaches conclusions. May also design experiments. Documents experiments and other lab or production activities. Prepares reports and summaries. Presents results and conclusions. Maintains appropriate records. Participates on and may manage teams, planning and organizing team activities. Orders and maintains equipment and work area. Collaborates and communicates with colleagues and others in related areas to provide work support, exchange information and ensure efficient processes. May produce and/or test reagents and final products and perform other production-related activities. Maintains knowledge of products and procedures, developments in the field and industry and regulatory environment. Adheres to appropriate procedures and regulatory requirements. May participate in conferences, webinars and seminars to continue to develop knowledge base. Adheres to and models the IDEXX Purpose & Guiding Principles. What you will need to succeed: Bachelor’s Degree with 5 years’ experience OR MSc degree in scientific discipline with 2 years’ experience Experience with small scale or pilot plant scale reactions and manufacturing of solutions or knowledge of coating technology preferred. Laboratory bench and instrumentation skills. Analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work independently and cooperatively as part of a team. Organizational skills and ability to plan work. Takes initiative and is accountable (shows ownership); focuses on task at hand; detail oriented. Adaptable. Ability to work well under pressure and handle the stress of deadlines. Why IDEXX?
