Job Description

What can you expect? Operations Finance is seeking a Cost Analyst who is responsible for supporting manufacturing product costing. This entails working cross functionally across the organization to ensure accurate product costs, learning Operations product and processes and implications on the financials, while also participating in important project initiatives to support business growth. This position will report into the Cost Accounting Manager and will be a member of the broader Operations Finance team supporting global manufacturing. You are a data driven individual who is highly accountable and motivated while always seeking to understand the business and financial processes. Key components to the role include: Involvement and support of ensuring accuracy of manufacturing standard costs. Duties include establishing new parts in SAP, supporting new product development by performing cost estimates in SAP and serving as the primary point of contact for daily costing activities. Performing monthly journal entries and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial results. Ability and motivation to improve processes with a goal of increasing workflow efficiency and improved insight into Operational data. Involvement in the annual Budget process through creating and analyzing product costs for accuracy and understanding. Supporting creation of new plants through testing and adapting processes to support business growth. Working in a team environment and providing ad hoc support for the Operations Finance team. Assist with Audit requirements and requests and ensuring compliance with company policies while modeling the IDEXX Purpose and Guiding Principles. Perform special projects and other duties as assigned. EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Finance or Accounting REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Detail oriented with a focus on ensuring accuracy and understanding of data Analytical skills, problem solving and critical thinking abilities Ability to effectively manage priorities and multiple deliverables while meeting tight deadlines Ability to work independently but open to receiving guidance and direction as needed Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Proven track record as an effective team player Motivated and proactive work ethic Intermediate Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint capabilities SAP system experience preferred WHY IDEXX We’re proud of the work we do, because our work matters.
