Job Description

Precision Science is searching for an experienced Pellet Press Operator (NOT CNC) who has mastered the regular operation of a pellet mill system in addition to most basic production and packaging duties. The nature of all production positions involves repetitive motions for extended periods.

KEY DUTIES OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate the pellet mill.
  • Dust and clean the pellet mill panel.
  • Collect samples as needed.
  • Ability to clear the pellet mill if it becomes obstructed.
  • Keep the coolers clean.
  • Ability to mix/blend WIP materials.
  • Ability to set up a packaging line. Ability to use Fishbowl to retrieve documents.
  • Ability to weigh and document raw material quantities.
  • Ability to run pellet mills without assistance of a lead technician or assist with QA responsibilities.
  • Label, fill and package products.
  • Basic system cleaning.
  • Ability to perform as a lead technician and manage a system.
  • Scan material to move to/from system locations in inventory system when necessary. Complete minor maintenance and troubleshooting of the mill.
  • Report end of shift production activity.
  • Conduct batch record review and reconciliation.
  • Maintain the efficient flow of product through the production process.
  • Set-up and maintain line equipment.
  • Monitor the process and inform supervisors of any issues.
  • Ensure all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), safety and quality standards are met. Perform any duties assigned to best serve the company.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Two to four years of production experience or similar preferred Three to five years of work experience preferred Knowledge of safe work practices

EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATION/FORMAL TRAINING:

  • Forklift certification may be required.
  • High School diploma or GED preferred.

ESSENTIAL ABILITIES:

  • Ability to read/write English and perform basic math functions.

  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • May be assigned to work in other areas of the facilities
  • Work Hired shift Arrive to work on time and work entire shift as scheduled

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged standing and repetitive motions, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling.
  • May be required to frequently lift 50-75 lbs.
  • Hand dexterity and strength.
  • Overtime is required, including weekends.
  • May be required to work a flexible schedule.
