This Scientist IV/Senior Scientist position is a laboratory-based (vs. managerial) position within the Biopharmaceutics and Material Sciences section. He/she conducts drug product manufacturing activities and be independently responsible for completion of batches. He/she also investigates the root cause of manufacturing issues/delays due to mechanical failures and thereby accounts for proper maintenance of various manufacturing equipments. The scientist will also extend ad-hoc support to global projects and be part of multidisciplinary team as an acknowledged resource of drug product manufacturing and drug substance milling, respectively.

Duties & Responsibilities
• Conduct various drug product manufacturing processes such as roller compaction, fluid bed granulation, tablet film coating, compression, etc. as well as various milling operations for drug substances.
• Troubleshoots thoroughly manufacturing issues related to mechanical or formulation aspects and strategize planning with vendor for proper maintenance and calibration of instruments.
• Participates in and contributes to multidisciplinary project teams/sub-teams, and functions as an acknowledged resource in the field of expertise within and outside Material and Analytical Sciences (MAS).
• Responsible for preparing and reviewing technical memos and reports.
• Able to lift equipments up to 50 lb.
Requirements
Scientist IV
• BS with 10+ years or MS with 6+ years of industrial experience.
Senior Scientist
• Ph.D. Degree or equivalent with experience in a related field such as (BS with 12+ years or MS with 10+ years of industrial experience)
Both Levels
o Extensive experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing processes of drug products including milling of drug substances.
o Profound experience in troubleshooting of unit operations and maintenance issues.
o Ability to work with a team of individuals in a timeline driven setting.
o Experience in consulting support for strategic planning of space footprint and budgeting will be a plus.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
• Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required)
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
Compensation Data
This position offers a base salary typically between $111,000 and $183,000. The position may be eligible for a role specific variable or performance-based bonus and or other compensation elements. For an overview of our benefits please click here.
