Financial Analyst – Treasury/Corporate Risk & Insurance
Work Location: Greenfield, IN (Hybrid)
This role supports Global Treasury operations which includes cash management and risk management & insurance processes and programs. Responsibilities include planning and forecasting, accounting, data collection and analysis, and identifying and leading process improvement initiatives. This role requires significant interaction with internal finance partners including Tax, Controllers, and Budget & Planning as well as Manufacturing, Legal, HR, and Commercial Operations. In this role, the Analyst influences and directs external business partners such as banks, technology vendors, insurance brokers, and underwriters. To support the risk management and insurance programs, the Analyst is responsible for setting direction and challenging our brokers, business partners and vendors to provide best in class service, benchmarking, appropriate recognition, and marketing of Elanco’s business. The role reports to the Senior Advisor of Risk Management and Insurance and with oversight by the Assistant Treasurer for Global Treasury Operations.
1. Support Corporate Treasury using Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to drive performance. Activities will include benchmarking of various insurance programs qualitatively and quantitatively, identify opportunities to reduce cost and recommend process improvements, develop, and maintain risk management policies and procedures, troubleshoot and resolve issues from internal business partners and external entities.
2. Provide financial and insurance support to internal and external entities for program renewals, claims management and other risk identification/mitigation activities throughout the year.
a. Manage all accounting activities for Insurance/Risk Management programs.
b. Provide accounting support for Treasury’s cash management activities.
c. Lead planning & forecasting cycles.
d. Manage budget and report actuals Sr. Directors and Treasurer.
e. Support Sox controls and compliance testing.
f. Support Securitization program annual field exam in conjunction with Customer Service, Finance, and shared services teams.
4. Collaborate with Treasury peers in identifying opportunities to reduce bank fees.
a. Identify inefficiencies/bottlenecks in Treasury activities.
b. Work with internal/external partners to create solutions to inefficiencies (Excel models, new workflows, technology enhancements, etc.).
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics
High level of learning agility required to learn and manage Treasury and risk management operations, related accounting, and financial implications.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, able to clearly communicate with peers and leadership.
Ability to handle multiple initiatives at the same time.
SAP skills relating to financial activities.
Strong problem-solving skills are essential.
Ability to establish credibility with external partners.
Must be able to influence decisions and accomplish Treasury/Risk Management goals across all affiliates and across multiple functions.
