The Vice President, HRBP Human Pharma (HP) is responsible for the strategic leadership of the HR Business partnering function for the Human Pharma Business Unit. This role partners with the responsible HR Centers of Excellence (COE) leaders to ensure services and resources provided are aligned to the current and future needs of the US business.
The VP, HRBP Human Pharma directs a group of HR professionals to develop and deliver HR programs, services and support. This role is responsible for aligning priorities with the business and managing a budget and resources to deliver the required HR services and expertise to meet current and future business needs in the US.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Aligns global and local decisions, goals and initiatives to local decisions, goals and initiatives.
- Escalates and de-escalates issues when necessary to appropriate leadership in all levels of the local and global organization.
- Ensures all Human Resources functions align their objectives to the annual priorities and that they achieve these objectives.
- Ensures these teams are also supporting the business functions to achieve their objectives.
- Brokers the relationship with leaders for key COE services (diversity & inclusion, Total Rewards, TLO, HR@GBS, Employee Relations & HR Compliance) ensuring efficient and effective services are provided to meet the needs of the HP US businesses while supporting opportunities to harmonize across.
- Act as a key and primary advisor to the HP Leadership Teams on HR matters.
- Participates in the development of business strategies and goals in alignment with Global and Locall HR to ensure that management and employees have the necessary capabilities to execute those business strategies and goals.
- Actively participates on Global HR leadership teams, projects and initiatives.
- Provides guidance and strategic direction for local and global processes.
- Works with the HPLT on specific organizational needs related to business changes.
- Brokers and maintains relationships with key executive stakeholders at the local and global level.
- Ensures that HR employees are fully trained in applicable employment laws and regulations and that policies, procedures, and systems are in place to minimize employee relations problems and, when faced with violations of policy, those incidents are handled professionally and with minimal risk to the corporation (in concert with ER&C).
- Ensures that HRBP teams establish performance management processes, succession planning for all strategic / critical positions and career path programs designed to develop employees as part of the overall workforce strategy with their business clients.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of Human Resource experience or equivalent business leadership experience in positions of increasing authority with prior experience in Human Resources Business Partnering and/or organizational development required.
- Knowledge of HR disciplines including talent selection and development, workforce planning, compensation, benefits, performance management, and employee relations.
- Experience working cross-culturally with diverse colleagues in a global environment required.
- Demonstrated success working in a Matrix environment locally and globally within the HR function and across the business functions.
- Strong leadership ability required.
- Strategic thinking ability, and strong business judgment connecting human resources with the business strategies and goals.
- Influencing, relationship building, and effective facilitation and change management skills.
- Ability to address organizational culture and include culture considerations on each decision taken.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with management and employees and contribute to all aspects of the organization.
- Ability to build effective teams committed to organizational objectives; fosters collaboration among diverse team members; develops individuals and teams by providing effective feedback and coaching, delegating, empowering, and removing obstacles.
- Demonstrated track record of success in Labor Relations and the collective bargaining process strongly preferred.
