Position Overview:
This leadership role will require an individual who is both a strategic visionary and a collaborative manager that can guide our experienced leadership team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in growth-oriented environments, that operate on low margins, while delivering a proven track record of financial performance and operational excellence.
The President will build key relationships with suppliers and partners and work closely with the executive leadership team to execute business strategies that ensure continued growth and market leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Management Skills
- Define and drive the company’s long-term vision, aligning growth with market trends, regulatory shifts, and industry developments.
- Lead and inspire experienced teams, fostering a positive, ethical, and transparent corporate culture.
- Oversee financial planning, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management, with a strong grasp of distribution profit margins.
- Negotiate favorable terms with suppliers and partners while building long-term, trust-based relationships essential to our business model.
- Develop and execute effective B2B sales strategies, with a focus on relationship management in the veterinary sector.
- Continuously improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and uphold product quality.
- Manage supply chain, warehousing, and logistics for sensitive products like medications and surgical tools.
- Stay informed on veterinary industry trends, regulations, and competitive dynamics to meet the evolving needs of veterinary professionals.
- Integrate customer feedback into product and service offerings, ensuring alignment with the needs of clinics and animal hospitals.
- Uphold high ethical standards and ensure compliance with legal and industry requirements for animal care.
- Communicate complex information clearly to diverse stakeholders, including employees, customers, and regulatory bodies.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Veterinary Science, or a related field (MBA or other advanced degrees preferred).
- Experience: A minimum of 10+ years of executive leadership experience in the veterinary or related distribution industry, including at least 5 years in a senior management role.
- Financial Acumen: Proven ability to manage budgets, financial reports, and achieve revenue and profitability targets.
- Strategic Thinker: Ability to think long-term and adapt to changing market conditions, while also focusing on short-term execution.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to represent the company at all levels of interaction
