(Archived) Director - Finance Shared Services
Job Description
Position Purpose:
- This position will report to the Global Finance Shared Services Leader and play a key role in the design and steady state operations of the shared service center in Poland. Key attributes of this role include:
- Track record of successfully leading the launch and operations of a finance shared service center for a multinational corporation
- Significant experience in leading, managing and developing people
- Demonstrated ability to effectively balance financial and operational factors and analyze complex business problems to develop appropriate solutions in a timely and responsive manner
- Strong business acumen and customer orientation
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work in culturally diverse teams with many levels of personnel
Main Responsibilities:
- Direct overall operations across all SSC functions including P2P, R2R, O2C, Intercompany and Master Data Management
- Actively participate in decision making and strategy development to shape future SSC direction
- Lead and develop a high-performance organization that strives to deliver quality services to the business
- Responsible for building and maintaining strategic relationships with the Global SSC Lead, Controller, Market Finance Directors and Global Process Owners as well as internal and external audit partners
- Represent the SSC organization to internal and external customers at the highest levels
- Oversee the fiscal activities of the SSC, including budgeting, reporting and audit
- Collaborate with Global Process Owners and Transformation Team to continually improve quality, efficiency and synergies
- Implement consistent standards and efficient methods of working across functional teams
- Continually measure outputs, capability and success criteria of the center
- Participate in regular Finance Leadership meetings that aim to achieve the following:
Promote commitment to SSC and approve SSC strategic direction
Participate in decisions on hiring of senior SSC management
Review yearly financial and service performance
- Lead performance management and appraisal as well as goal setting for critical and senior SSC talent
- Play a key role in leadership training, coaching, driving diversity and mentoring efforts
Education
- Graduate degree in Finance / Accounting. Advanced degree / MBA/CPA preferred
Experience
- 10-12+ years in managing finance shared services organizations. Animal Health / Pharmaceutical industry experience preferred.
- Global experience in finance leadership roles managing Manager level reports and multi-process teams
Other Requirements
- Proficiency in English is a must
- Strong accounting background and systems orientation (such as SAP, Hyperion)
- Ability to travel (up to 25%) for business meetings to market and other SSC locations
