Job Description

The individual will be responsible for the technical education of the Company's personnel, as well as external customers. The individual will be expected to develop and implement internal and external training and serve as subject matter experts. Train and educate via ride-alongs with Sales Representatives and through facilitation of technical presentations in various formal and informal forums such as lunch and dinner meetings, technical wet-labs, distributor training, and veterinary medical association meetings and conferences. Relationships will be fostered with key opinion leaders as well as with faculty, students, and staff of veterinary schools. The individual will also be responsible for product support studies. We are passionate about horses! This is a remote/hybrid role; the Company is headquartered in the Great Lakes area.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Research and Development – particularly in reproduction/breeding
    -- Ability to complete studies leading to published, peer-reviewed, publication
    -- Develop/implement subject matter trainings for both internal & external customers at all levels of business acumen
    -- Presentation ability to encompass formal and informal settings, as well as veterinary conferences and trade shows
    -- Design & facilitate wet-labs for conferences, trade shows & distributor meetings
    -- Outreach efforts to area veterinary schools, presentations, teaching
    -- Webinar development with industry leaders, offering CEUs for veterinarians through our website.
    -- Expand veterinarian outreach, training on product knowledge and overall GI Tract Health/Nutrition
  • Ability to work collaboratively with field representatives to educate and drive sales
    -- On-time, consistent monthly reporting to team members
    -- Field veterinary/consumer inquiries on a timely basis

Technical Services Support

  • Organizes and supports regular client meetings to present technical information and provide practical training all levels of staff

  • Describes and presents product technical issues

  • Develops the company’s reputation for excellence and expertise by representing the company in a professional, knowledgeable, ethical manner

  • Delivers prompt technical advice and support to internal and external customers

  • Partners with the commercial team to ensure accurate, effective campaigns.

  • Conceives, plans, organizes, and executes product support trials intended for submission to and publication by peer-reviewed journals. This responsibility includes, but is not limited to budget planning for supplies, third-party expenses, any needed (capital) equipment, cooperator identification, enrollment and management, data gathering, and statistical analysis

  • Develops and maintains the Company’s contact with opinion leaders and key account contacts

  • Represents the Company at national/regional conferences or tradeshows , webinars, recorded presentations, etc.

  • Reports on new trends in veterinary medicine

General/Administrative

  • Supports the Company vision and mission and demonstrates the corporate values

  • Complies with all OSHA safety requirements, work rules and regulations.

  • Compiles and maintains all required paperwork, records, documents, etc.

  • Maintains departmental housekeeping standards.

  • Travel requirements are 25+% travel outside of home office. (Remote role.)

  • All other duties as requested by management.

Qualifications
Education and Certification

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree

  • Licensed to practice in at least US State

Knowledge and Experience

  • Minimum of 4 years of veterinary practice. Preference for prior industry experience

  • Experience in education, coaching, training, and public speaking to diverse groups in diverse settings

  • Dedicated equine experience a must

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills

  • Competency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

  • Working knowledge of Spanish a plus
