POSITION SUMMARY
Zoetis’ U.S. Retail channel has seen significant growth accelerated by the switch to online along with customers' need for more competitive pricing, transparency, and convenience. The retail channel is a strategic priority for the organization with eCommerce being at the center of our growth strategy. We are looking for a passionate marketing leader with marketing intuition, creative vision, and executional capability.
The Director, Digital Marketing role offers the right candidate an opportunity to be part of the leadership team building and shaping retail marketing, merchandising, and program strategy. This is a high visibility role which encompasses key elements of campaign planning and execution, content creation and optimization, performance management, identifying new digital marketing trends and ensuring that our brands are in front of the right consumer segments.
This role will serve as the digital strategy lead, will run point across all digital activation, and will be a member of the U.S. Retail leadership team.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and/or influence cross-functional teams to plan, develop, and implement digital marketing initiatives aimed at increasing brand awareness, new customer acquisition, traffic, and sales
- Own the retail experience from a product, category, training, visual, and brand development perspective
- Design and manage the digital marketing campaign schedule around key seasonal and promotional events; set and manage digital marketing budgets to maximize return on investment across campaigns, tactics, and retailers
- Manage retailer-specific marketing opportunities and overall execution, including promotion strategy, creative development, retailer .com and digital media, and content needs
- Assess traffic and purchase behavior trends by customer segment to expose seasonal shopping behavior opportunities that can be leveraged to inform digital marketing initiatives and improving effectiveness and efficiency
- Collaborate with the account teams on assortment discussions and distribution expansion requests
- Manage product launches for assigned product lines including oversight of asset creation and implementation of enhanced content
- Lead the development of the yearly strategic operating plan, which includes strategies to drive account growth, creation of innovative OTC and prescription programs across species that differentiate Zoetis from our competitors
- Provide thought leadership, guidance and prepare the organization for Amazon’s entry into Pet Rx
- Develop and provide teams with performance goals, measurement, and actionable insights around digital channel performance through streamlined, centralized visibility into all tactics and campaigns
- Lead 1-2 direct reports and recruit and hire additional specialized talent to expand the digital marketing function within the Retail team
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Marketing, or related field. MBA is strongly preferred
- 5+ years of years of experience building and managing retail marketing programs with a specific emphasis on retailer .com
- Specific experience in the following:
- Consumer marketing such as channel marketing, retail marketing, product marketing, merchandising, or advertising especially in the pharmaceuticals and / or CPG space
- Multi-party marketing partnerships and extensive experience working with retailers and e-tailers
- Marketing analytics to determine the ROI of marketing efforts and to identify opportunities for improvement
- Retail planning and allocation to ensure that there is product supply to support marketing initiatives
- Working cross-functionally in complex, large organizations
- Effectively working with and communicating to senior leadership teams and the broader organization to drive collaboration and change
- Business analysis using data to derive insights and influence decision making
- Strong proficiency using MS Excel, Tableau, or similar
TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
- Excellent communication and presentation skills: ability to summarize and present actionable information from complex research; ability to influence without authority
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Strong project management skills and experience managing cross-functional working relationships
- Ability to build close working relationships and drive data-driven recommendations and decisions with internal teams (e.g., marketing, finance)
- A proven track record of driving market share growth, demonstrated over a sustained period
- Strong business acumen to derive business insights and drive actions from marketing analytics
- Ability to simultaneously manage and pivot between multiple projects, pilots, and tests
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Power Point, Excel) and with analytical tools (e.g., Tableau, etc.).
PHYSICAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- The position is physically located in an office environment in Parsippany, NJ; however, flex models (hybrid or remote) will be considered
