This incumbent leads Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (FMEA) Process. Facilitating teams to investigate and determine potential quality, safety and reliability issues on new or existing equipment and process.

Functions, Duties, Tasks:

  • Establish multifunctional teams to perform FMEA investigations on critical equipment or Process in a timely manner.

  • Work across sites to facilitate FMEA consistency.

  • Utilization of the FMEA spreadsheet tool and / or other technical tools to perform in depth technical review of equipment, utilities or process.

  • Collaborate and drive the completion of the investigation summary report, control strategy summary, task assignment and tracking in the Quality system (Veeva)

  • Ability to negate any preconceived thoughts associated with the equipment being reviewed and conduct investigations in an objective approach.

  • Basic understanding of process equipment and have mechanical aptitude to understand equipment operation and process directions. Ensuring reliable operation and quality from equipment and process.

  • Ability to understand equipment drawings and technical manuals.

  • Project management ability to plan, organize and execute basic projects.

  • Safety oriented to ensure a safe work environment and safe operation of equipment.

Basic Minimum Requirements:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in related Engineering field and on-the-job training & experience gained by working in the engineering or manufacturing environment.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to form and motivate teams comprised of inter-intra department Elanco employees outside consultants and venders.

  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Elanco does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position.

Additional Preferences:

  • Organizational skills in planning, goal setting, prioritizing work and coordinating with area stakeholders. Strong oral and written communication skills to be able to effectively interface with all levels of Elanco personnel, outside consultants, contractors. Position requires the ability to understand and apply technical information, as well as the ability to make sound business decision regarding technical matters. Knowledge of regulations a must.

  • Maintain a non-bias opinion of the equipment or process being reviewed.

  • Ability to perform in-depth investigating and initiate discussion on potential areas of concern associated with quality, safety and reliability.
