The Learning and Development (L&D) Specialist is responsible for working with line management to establish and administer the training program for the Fort Dodge site. This individual serves as the point person for L&D at the Fort Dodge site. This position will also support the sites overall Document Control systems, which entails issuance of production records, document management systems, and ensures compliance with site requirements for documentation.
Learning & Development Responsibilities:
Work with line management in analyzing and designing courses/curriculum
Assist with Instructor Led Trainings-prepare materials, coordinate conference rooms, and process Learning History Requests.
Ensure overall consistency and compliance of the site training program
Maintain L&D systems and processes
Participate in deviation and change control process to understand the issues, evaluate training opportunities, and assist leaders with determining the required level of training needed
Create and communicate site training metrics
Provide coaching on the use of the L&D system functionalities
Participate in site projects as necessary
Serves as site L&D contact
Work with area mentors/SME’s to support on-the-job training
Strong partnership and communication with cross functional areas
Provide Customer Support on Success Factors
Recommend, implement and evaluate L&D Solutions, including defining instructor qualifications, coordinating or conducting train-the-trainer sessions, course evaluations.
Document Control Job Responsibilities:
Ensure Document Control systems are established and implemented to facilitate system of filing and retrieval of documentation.
Provide customer support to all areas of manufacturing and quality
Issue controlled records for production use
Establishes system and procedures to ensure consistency in reporting practices.
Processes records through site Electronic Document Management System
Minimum Qualification (education, experience and/or training, required certifications):
High school education + 5 years of relevant experience or an Associate's degree + 3 years of relevant experience
Excellent problem solving skills
Strong communication skills
Self-motivated with attention to details and strong organizational skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to plan, lead and implement projects
Ability to make recommendations and influence others
Will need to successfully complete appropriate training requirements upon job assignment
Completion of Post Offer Exam, Completion of Work Simulation or Completion of Administrative Skills Testing if applicable.
Additional Preferences:
Experience working in an FDA or USDA regulated environment
Experience with training and development programs, databases and evaluations
Experience with document retention programs
Other Information: Some lifting up to 10 lbs. may be required for handling of records. Primary work hours are first shift however, some overtime may be required.
