Area of responsibility 1: Fixed Assets (Intangible & Tangible) and Capital Leases
Main activities
Enter/track fixed asset additions, disposals, impairments, and calculate related depreciation and amortization using Sage and/or M3 Fixed asset module.
Work with the Tax Manager to enter tax details on fixed assets in Sage.
Track intangible asset additions, disposals, and related amortization, and perform impairment analysis and testing
Prepare all capital expenditure reporting including budgets, actuals, and forecasts
Perform monthly fixed and intangible assets reconciliations in the general ledger
Perform monthly account reconciliations for all assigned balance sheet accounts and identify any issues with sub-ledgers resulting in a variance to the general ledger
Interpret the significance of the financial information through analysis and research, offer solutions and follow through with resolution to issues identified.
Investigate, analyse, and communicate the underlying reasons for material fluctuations and deviations between to budget and forecast
Prepare and post accurate related journal entries including accruals to insure the accurate reporting of financial results
Effectively communicate with Treasury, Industrial Operations, Financial Analysis, and Finance Management teams to insure the fixed asset tracking process is efficient and the results are accurate
Manage Capital Leases through ViaReport software and ensure proper lease accounting
Meet deadlines published by HQ and Virbac Corp
Expected results: Timely and accurate financial reporting
Area of responsibility 2: Analyze assigned monthly P&L’s and account for transactions for inclusion in various financial reports according to the close schedule.
Main activities
Review monthly P&L’s for I&BD (R&D) and other assigned cost centers and analyze variances between actual and budgeted expenses by the published deadline.
Support I&BD (R&D) reporting (internal and to HQ) and supporting I&BD (R&D) planning and budget cycles.
Prepare and issue accurate reports, sub-ledgers, journal, statistics for financial reporting
Verify that transactions are properly recorded and accounted for in the general ledger
Prepare and post accrual journal entries as needed to insure the accurate reporting of financial results
Continually evaluate and improve work efficiency to insure that work is value-added, meaningful and effective
Monthly R&D Report.
Expected results: Timely and accurate reporting of financial data
Area of responsibility 3: Provide support during mid-year, interim, and annual reviews and audits by external auditors and other audits as necessary (e.g., sales and use tax, income/franchise tax, etc.)
Main activities
Prepare Account Reconciliations in the required format
Provide documentation to support accounts reconciliations, fixed assets, intangible assets, and other requests as assigned.
Provide analysis of accounts to facilitate the completion of the external audit or review
Expected results: Timely and successful completion of all reviews and audits
Area of accountability no. 4: Contribute to cross-functional collaboration with other areas of the Company:
Main activities
Analyse and prepare financial schedules and reports to support other departments as a business partner
Investigate, analyse, and communicate the underlying reasons for material fluctuations and deviations to prior periods and to budget to other departments
Educate employees in other departments in the purpose, understanding, and use of financial information
Look for proper internal controls and procedures in other areas of the business and elevate noncompliance to the appropriate level of financial management.

Requirements (Diploma and experience)
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting
Five+ years of experience in Accounting
Two+ years of Fixed Assets Experience.
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, practices, and procedures with an ERP system
Experience using Sage or other fixed assets software
Hands on experience with an intermediate knowledge of Excel, Word, and Google Suites
Skills
