Manager – Tax Accounting and External Reporting

Work Location: Greenfield, IN (Hybrid)

Elanco has an exciting new opportunity to join our growing innovative and collaborative tax team as we execute our vision to become a high performing tech-forward tax department, taking command over our data and enabling increased analytics through use of data wrangling, automation and visualization tools. The Role

The Manager – Tax Accounting and External Reporting, reports to the Advisor (Director) – Tax and is an integral role in the global tax department, primarily responsible for managing the preparation and review of quarterly and annual income tax provision (ASC740) related tasks focused primarily on domestic (US). The role requires a comprehensive understanding ASC740 for a complex multinational public company.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Preparing and reviewing interim and year-end tax accounting calculations in accordance with ASC740

  • Manage and review current and deferred tax reporting for all domestic legal entities

  • Perform technical research and draft documentation of tax accounting positions

  • Liaise and coordinate with the domestic income tax compliance team

  • Partner with tax, accounting, and finance functions within Elanco, as well as outside service providers

  • Work with the tax advisor on creating, educating, and enforcing a tax governance matrix to formalize process, procedures, documentation, and responsibilities within the income tax function and the wider finance function

  • Develop strong understanding of Elanco businesses and internal financial systems and tools

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

  • 5+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting or industry

  • Demonstrated strength in project management philosophy, tools and processes

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Comprehensive understanding of state and federal income tax

  • Growing knowledge of international income tax concepts

  • Excellent skills with the MS Suite: SharePoint, Teams, OneNote, Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Additional Preferences

  • CPA or equivalent

  • 5+ years complex public multi-national company experience

  • Experience with CorpTax, BNA, SAP, MS Power platform

  • Experience with Data Analytics systems (Alteryx, Tableau)
