Accounting Operations Manager

Work Location: Greenfield, IN (Hybrid)

The organization has recently completed a successful IPO and is in an exciting period of growth and opportunity (both organically and via acquisitions). As part of this journey, Elanco is looking for experienced financial leaders with strong leadership and business partnering skills to help Senior Management make well-informed, data-driven decisions.

The Accounting Operations Manager position will serve as the US Accounting Manager for the broader US entity, encompassing Commercial, Manufacturing, R&D, and Corporate Functions support and report to the US Controller. Specifically, the role requires strong knowledge of accounting, controls, SOx understanding, and technology while also being able to work effectively as both a preparer and leader to achieve finance and accounting goals for the organization.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Support all accounting, controls, and SOx activities for the US legal entity potentially including the following:

    • Performing deep dives of complex business transactions in an effort to improve accounting implementations and delivering findings and recommendations to Management.

    • Complete key month-end close activities (e.g., SMOI, Returns Reserve, GRIR, Account Reconciliations, etc.)

    • Participate in TB-pack reviews as part of monthly close

    • Assist in key aspects of payroll activity for the US entity, including execution of the FSIP (i.e., Sales Bonus Program) for the US Pet Health and US Farm Animal businesses

    • Assist in automation efforts across the US Commercial enterprise to more efficiently and accurately produce deliverables

  • Support future business development / integration activities, including any new close activities not presently being performed

  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to help organization make informed decisions and achieve superior results; lead ad-hoc business cases and projects which have enterprise impact where required

  • Serve as liaison to stakeholders supporting Elanco controls environment, including ECAR, FCO, ESC, CAS, and EY

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor and / or Masters degree level education in Finance / Accounting (CPA strongly preferred)

  • 5 – 10 years of experience in accounting / controls, ideally including time with a public accounting firm

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Deep knowledge of accounting and finance, including a robust understanding of available technology to efficiently complete tasks

  • Strong business acumen and ability to help internal stakeholders deliver against business objectives

  • Effective verbal and written communications skills and the ability to facilitate projects with leadership

  • Personal accountability and strong drive for execution
