Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

To provide superior customer support (technical, business, strategic etc.) so that Zoetis may achieve a sustainable competitive advantage.

Be the technical expert on Zoetis Petcare’s growing portfolio including therapeutics, preventives, diagnostics, and business services/solutions.

Be viewed as a leader and valued advisor to commercial and business operations personnel on matters related to veterinary medicine and the veterinary industry.

Enhance the scientific/professional image of Zoetis.


PRINCIPAL JOB DUTIES:

Matrix Management: Work effectively and collaboratively with sales, marketing, veterinary professional services and sales learning teams to consistently meet expectations around integrity/compliance, work-ethic, role/responsibility, conduct, effective communication, all administrative responsibilities, and overall teamwork.

Sales Area Support: Partner with Area Business Manager (ABM) to develop and successfully achieve the Area’s business strategy and objectives (e.g. collaborate and communicate effectively with ABM, positively influence customers and colleagues, support sales colleague development through coaching aligned with technical and business opportunities/strengths).

Ride with sales representatives. Provide education on products, therapeutic areas, diagnostics and business solutions via:

  • Presentations (lunch and learns, dinner events etc.)
  • Roundtable discussions
  • 1:1 or small group interaction
  • Be the ‘voice of the veterinarian’ when discussing strategies and educating internal sales teams.
  • During sales rides and other interactions, provide and seek coaching and timely feedback to and from sales team members.

Inquiries/Complaints: Provide sound technical advice on routine inquires. Respond quickly and effectively to customer inquiries/questions/complaints, fulfill regulatory requirements and follow corporate guidelines with respect to adverse event reporting. You may respond, reactively, to off-label inquiries within regulatory guidelines, however, this is not a focus of your role.


Marketing Support: As requested, contribute to the development of technical or marketing presentations/materials. Review sales materials for technical accuracy, medical appropriateness and utility to customers and field force.

Training/Education: Support training and development needs of sales colleagues, peers as required.

Professional Organization / University Liaison: Attend selected VMAs and professional organization meetings. Develop effective communication/support with assigned Colleges of Veterinary Medicine faculty and students as needed.

Veterinary Conferences: As requested, support the company booth at major conferences (1-2 conferences per year).


Projects/Tasks: Participate on Zoetis project teams, as assigned. Complete any other work-related tasks as assigned by the Director, Petcare Veterinary Professional Services Team.

Personal Development: Maintain commitment to your personal and professional growth to enhance your relevance, impact, and engagement. Stay current in assigned areas of veterinary medicine; with Manager, formulate and implement personal development plan.

REQUIRED JOB RELATED CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent.
Current and active veterinary state license, in good standing (from the United States).
3+ years post DVM/VMD: Minimum of 3 years in small animal general clinical practice. May include additional years of experience in academia, research, military or industry.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Strong relationship building skills.

Adept at working in highly fluid, complex, and ever-changing environments.

Consistent follow-through and attention to detail.

Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a close team environment.

Exhibit willingness to accept and incorporate feedback.

Computer skills (Zoom/web Ex, MS Office, Outlook, and ability to learn Zoetis systems)

PREFERRED CANDIDATE EXPERIENCES/QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience presenting educational programs.
