The Senior Professional Services Veterinarian- Internal Medicine Specialist will function to support the medical and scientific needs of the companion animal business unit as it relates to internal medicine and our Company's Animal Health portfolio. This individual will interact with companion animal teams, key industry opinion leaders, and our customer base to achieve the goals of the professional services veterinary team and the companion animal business unit of Animal Health. The position is strategic, collaborative, operational, and visionary in the scope of the activities.
Key responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Utilizes specialist knowledge and experience in veterinary medicine to serve as the company’s subject matter expert in companion animal internal medicine (infectious diseases, endocrinology, oncology, parasitology)
Serve as the subject matter expert on internal medicine to assist in the development and execution of strategic goals and initiatives as they relate to the Animal Health portfolio of products
Interact with and inform key opinion leaders and veterinarians in the field on Animal Health products and technology; assist in developing advisory boards
Develop and deliver engaging training on internal medicine topics as it relates to the Animal Health portfolio to Animal Health veterinarians and employees
Work to integrate the Animal Health therapeutic, preventative, and technology portfolios to identify, manage, and execute on key strategic initiatives
Collaborate with Strategic Development and Innovation team to work across departments, including marketing, research and development, business development, and sales to help manage projects and identify key opportunities as they relate to internal medicine and Animal Health portfolio
Work across Animal Health departments to collaborate and consult on research projects, including market support studies, clinical trials, and pre-clinical development of products; write publications
Represent Animal Health as a scientific speaker and technical expert at regional and national meetings by communicating key scientific topics and research; Consult with individual veterinary clinics
Partner with industry associations to support animal-health related topics
Education Minimum Requirement:
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD)
Board Certification in relevant field
DACVIM (preferred)
DACVM
DACVPM
Current license to practice veterinary medicine within the United States
Required Experience and Skills:
5 years relevant work experience with 2 years industry experience. Relevant work experience includes any of the following:
Private practice
Specialty practice
University practice
Government
Other industry/Research
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, including highly effective presentation skills
Must be able to work effectively with key opinion leaders, our customers, and the Animal Health team
Must demonstrate business acumen to effectively develop and manage projects and deliverables
Demonstrates the ability to draw appropriate and scientifically balanced conclusions from reports/data and analyses to support product recommendations
Must be able to strategize and manage project activities, collaborating with other stakeholders to maximize team’s results
Understand customers’ or stakeholders’ needs, requirements, and expectations in order to continuously seek new ways to improve the delivery of products and services
Skilled at developing strong networks and relationships
Practical and industrial experience
Demonstrated self-motivation
Ability to work independently
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Must live near a major airport
Travel requirements: 70% travel
Preferred Experience and Skills:
PhD or MPH
Experience with companion animal vaccines and parasiticides
