Job Description

*Open to remote candidates in the U.S.*

Position Summary:

  • Provide technical engineering support with respect to Zoetis’ LAN, WAN, and Wireless functionality with a primary focus on the diagnostics and reference lab business environments
  • Partner with Zoetis Tech & Digital (ZTD) colleagues and business colleagues to scope, design, implement, and troubleshoot network solutions with a primary focus on the diagnostics and reference lab business environments
  • Collaborate with ZTD leaders to align network strategy, direction, and priorities to effectively support business requirements.
  • Establish and maintain industry leading service levels in the delivery of network services by fostering and driving a culture of quality, collaboration, and innovation across the Infrastructure team, the broader ZTD organization and our vendor partners

Responsibilities:

Strategy and Business Results

  • Assist in the development of a business aligned, standards based, 3-year strategy for network services and solutions
  • Act as an innovation enabler and proactively bring forward opportunities and solutions that can drive cost effective service delivery, and enable revenue growth and profitability for the company
  • Develop, deploy, and continually enhance integrated, standardized data network solutions and services for the company, with a primary focus on the diagnostics and reference lab business environments

Architecture, Delivery, and Support

  • Develop, deploy, and continually enhance integrated, standardized network solutions and services for the company, with a focus the diagnostics and reference lab business environments. Including:
    • Local Area Networking
    • Wide Area Networking
    • Wireless Networking
    • Technology standards & roadmaps
    • Disaster Recovery enablement and ongoing enhancement
    • Contribute to and help maintain the enterprise systems architecture
    • Ensure adherence to standards and polices for network components and integration between related system, application, and infrastructure architectures
    • Drive the standardization and rationalization of the Zoetis network infrastructure towards a clearly defined, optimized, and enhanced end-state architecture.
    • Assist in the creation, maintenance, and communication of the Zoetis network architecture, including its design and technology standards
    • Manage chosen service providers in the deployment and ongoing support of all network services
    • L3+ support of network services
    • Lifecycle management of network technologies

Organization

  • Assist technical colleagues and the management team with the annual network operating and capital budgets consistent with established financial guidelines, and as part of the overall IT infrastructure budget
  • Assist technical colleagues with creating, deploying, and maintaining appropriate processes and practices, to facilitate operational and organizational success. Continuously look for improvement / development / enhancement opportunities
  • Oversight of third-party managed service provider and/or other contractors

Additional responsibilities in collaboration with other ZTD groups:

  • Interact with vendors, and other technical support groups for network monitoring & management, systems maintenance, and enhancements
  • Manage vendor relationship(s) as appropriate, including SLA monitoring, development of new services, continuous improvement initiatives and billing/invoicing accuracy
  • Review network related purchase requisitions, invoices, and quotes as required
  • Provide appropriate technical and operational input to the sourcing and procurement of network infrastructure hardware and software purchase, licensing, service, and maintenance contracts

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience

Experience (5-8+ years of experience in the following areas):

  • Recent relevant experience in networking platforms, technologies, and services with a focus on LAN switching, WAN, and Wireless environments
  • Clear understanding of IT Infrastructure lifecycle: Architecture, Design and Operations. Working knowledge of all areas of IT Infrastructure
  • Familiarity with system development, and operational process methodologies; ITIL v3 certification preferred
  • Diverse technical team experience and working with cross-functional teams
  • Experience in a commercial environment, preferably life-sciences, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects
  • Knowledge of pharma/animal health or similarly ‘regulated’ businesses

Technical Skills:

  • Managing Global Network Infrastructure and related technologies
  • Understanding Systems and Infrastructure Lifecycle Management
