POSITION SUMMARY

The primary function of this position is to provide support for the Inventory and Logistics functions within the Zoetis BioDevice Supply Chain. The Logistics Assistant will work closely with colleagues at other Global Manufacturing and Supply sites to ensure customer needs are met in an efficient manner. He or she will work closely with Manufacturing, Procurement, Planning and Engineering to meet/understand the daily needs of the Inventory and Logistics departments. The ideal candidate will have multiple years of experience in shipping, receiving, and international logistics.

This position will be located in Durham, NC and be a vital member of the Inventory and Logistics team.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Schedules, plans, and coordinates domestic and international outbound shipments.

Partners with procurement and customer support to coordinate transportation for domestic and international customer samples, inventory items, and special projects.

Develops and maintain all Logistics Metrics and analyzes trends to improve efficiency, conserve budget, and remove waste.

Prepares and properly archives accurate Bills of Lading, Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, and other shipment documentation.

Ensures compliance to domestic and international laws and regulatory agencies governing movement, entry, and export of goods.

Maintains accurate records of all imports, exports, and dangerous goods.

Develops and maintains relationships with key transportation partners, brokers, and 3rd party logistics coordinators to ensure efficient movement of goods.

Participates in continuous improvement, and develops and shares best practices for warehouse logistics with other Zoetis colleagues.

Coordinates and delivers training in material handling, dangerous goods transportation, and other topics, as necessary.

Receives incoming material into inventory, and performs necessary transactions in SAP.

Allocates space to new inventory receipts to maximize space and improve efficiency.

Generates, reviews, and updates work instructions and SOPs, as needed.

Supports Inventory functions as needed.

Other duties, as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required:

HS diploma or equivalent

5+ years shipping/receiving/inventory experience

Ability to organize, interpret, communicate and present information clearly

· Ability to effectively communicate across multiple levels of the organization

· Microsoft office applications including Word, PowerPoint, and Visio

· Willingness to work in a team environment, and exhibit flexibility in the variety of work executed by the Global Inventory and Logistics team

Preferred:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field

Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent Continuous Improvement experience

Experience with database, reporting, and/or analysis tools

TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

Highly proficient in current version of Microsoft Excel

Experience with ERP systems and data extraction

SAP experience (preferred)

· Advanced knowledge of international shipping, import and export processes (preferred)

PHYSICAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Work environment is in a manufacturing facility. This position will require standing and lifting (up to 50 lbs.) throughout the day.
