Role Description:

Lead and coordinate activities for the Performance Livestock Analytics Inside Sales team. Take responsibility for the management of all inside sales team members and ensure they are positioned to deliver a high level of success through sales and customer satisfaction. Align with internal and external contributors from multiple departments and levels of management to achieve the business’ sales and product success objectives. Work with the Director, Sales, and the PLA Leadership Team, to devise and implement strategies that continue to position PLA as a global leader in precision animal health. Coordinate communications with relevant industry leaders and other stakeholders at an operational level to ensure maximum penetration within all territories and key accounts. Take responsibility for the training of colleagues and contractors in the team and contribute to a team culture of continuous process improvement and sales success.

Inside Sales Manager Functions - (customize to role):

  • As the leader of the PLA Inside Sales team, you will be expected to be involved in all aspects of inside sales. In particular, the support, management, growth and continued success of all Inside Sales Reps. This will be accomplished through consistent and active communication in an individual and team setting.;
  • You will work closely with the National Growth Manager to confirm proper alignment of sales opportunities between the inside and outside sales teams.
  • Communicate with the Director of Sales Operations on a monthly and quarterly basis to understand any CRM updates, receive relative training and to ensure accurate data is being presented and can be leveraged by the Inside Sales Team for their past and future performance.
  • Meet with members of the Marketing team monthly to review past or current campaign success and to discuss any future campaigns that will directly impact lead generation for the Inside Sales team.
  • Organizing and executing weekly team meetings that involve discussion, coaching and training on new offerings, changes to external / internal processes and value propositions and other relative challenges impacting the team that need to be addressed
  • Reoccurring 1:1 meetings with all team members to discuss past, current and future performance through coaching, pipeline/deal reviews, and forecasting activities.
  • Guide all team members semi-annually in developing and revising individual goals through setting objectives and completing their Individual Development Plan (IDP).
  • Evaluate ongoing performances by monitoring reports from the Director of Sales Operations to uphold a culture of sales excellence

Colleague Management Functions -

  • Responsible for all colleagues and contractors in the PLA Customer Success/Inside Sales/Field Sales/Engineering team;
  • Ensure administrative tasks such as time-off requests and completed for direct reports and all personnel within the Customer Success organization, and manage the team shift schedule in order to deliver excellent customer service;
  • Ensure that regular one-on-one meetings are undertaken with the colleagues and contractors in the Customer Success organization to review performance with their relevant supervisor, and ensure the business is supporting their needs and development plan;
  • To the extent possible, ensure processes and customer service support is deployed consistently across our global service centers to ensure a consistently high level of customer satisfaction, including the utilization of Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs) - KPIs, Information Technology platforms and adherence with company and organizational policies;
  • Assist the Director of Customer Success with hiring new talent;
  • Facilitate new product / process training in your team in collaboration with the Engineering and Product Delivery teams, Sales and Marketing;
  • Assist in the development of training materials relevant to the customer service team in collaboration with others in the Customer Service team and the wider Genetics Business to ensure alignment in the delivery of our genetics services;
  • Be involved with customer and field force education initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree desired with at least four years of sales quota achievement as an individual contributor (internal) or three years’ experience sales management (external), or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Expertise in sales management highly desired;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Demonstrated people management skills in an inside sales division;
  • Excellent time management skills;
  • Knowledge of the agricultural (animal farming) industries;
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint);
  • Demonstrated high level of organization and ability to prioritize multiple competing demands;
  • Solid understanding of database systems (e.g., Hubspot);
  • Excels in a rapidly changing environment;
  • Self-motivated; ability to work independently and work as constructive team member. Demonstrated ability to manage people as both a coach and player.
