POSITION SUMMARY

The Pork Business Unit focuses on maximizing the value of our broad veterinary and producer solutions portfolio by building and sustaining relevant partnerships with veterinarians, producers, and owners. Based on our business model and operating environment, we bring more than just medicines, services, and expertise to the marketplace – we deploy a range of targeted activities to support our solutions offerings in meeting the needs of our customers, including our internship program. Primary responsibilities for the Pork Summer Sales Intern include leading the planning and execution of a 10-week internship project in a current Zoetis Account Manager territory overseeing pork accounts. The location for this position is flexible. The position will require travel and daily interactions with a customers and Zoetis colleagues.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The sales intern will be partnered with a Strategic Account Manager and reseller account(s) as guides and mentors
  • The reseller account and account manager will provide direction and a producer list for interns to interact with for their project.
  • The sales intern will:
    • Complete Zoetis onboarding and training
    • Set, hold and follow-up from appointments with producer/feed-mill accounts
    • Build skillsets in cold-calling, account management, pre-call planning and action item development
    • Work across species business units (pork and cattle) and functional groups including, but not limited to, Sales, Technical, Marketing and Livestock Production Specialists
    • Sell a product-specific marketing program to create mutual benefit to Zoetis, the reseller, and the customer
    • Conduct professional presentations to internal and external stakeholders
    • Report, weekly, to manager on progress and next week’s priorities
    • Network internally, daily, with Zoetis colleagues

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Applicants should be rising sophomore or above (undergraduate) with an agriculture major is preferred.

Sales experience is a bonus.

PHYSICAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Ability to travel (in vehicle) with potential varying need for overnight stays based on account location and need

Ability to work in modern pork production facilities, climbing gates, walking pens, working among pigs of all sizes and ages
