Job Description

The Senior Marketing Manager, Professional Communications will be a member of the Zoetis Petcare B2B Marketing Team responsible for successful development and execution of the Professional Communication strategic and tactical plans. These plans are designed to build the relationship between the Zoetis Petcare brand and our customers. This individual will be laser focused on knowing, engaging and growing the customer via robust market research, data analysis, metrics, an understanding of industry trends and customer needs, professional-facing platforms and communications in an authentic, innovative and impactful way.

The success of this role is largely dependent upon,

  • Understanding and advocating for the Voice of the Customer while being a champion of the customer’s experience with Zoetis Petcare
  • Knowing all key stakeholders on the veterinary healthcare team
  • Understanding the competitive B2B landscape and what competes for our customer’s attention
  • Command of the extensive Zoetis Petcare Portfolio, including above brand programs
  • Ability to work across teams and groups as a true partner, including the ability to synthesize and connect key tactical elements across B2B sub-teams, brand teams and other internal key stakeholders
  • Understanding how internal and external key stakeholders intersect with our customers; maximizing opportunities
  • Aptitude with which to make thoughtful decisions in real-time
  • Connecting the dots between partner functions (within B2B and across Zoetis Petcare)
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and optimization of the customer experience and communication engagement across Petcare marketing
  • Successful day to day partnership with Content Manager, Professional Communications

PROFESSIONAL COMMUNICATIONS, KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Digital First Contact Acquisition and Relevant, Associated Engagement Journeys
    • Work cross-functionally
    • Expand methods to improve quantity and quality of B2B contacts while maintaining and ensuring seamless execution of the core, proven drivers for contact acquisition
    • Explore 3rd party sourced opt ins
    • Engage professional contacts and expand profile
    • Develop lead generation and scoring capabilities
  • B2B Communication Prioritization
    • All B2B communications including but not limited to email
    • Calendarization, guidelines and cross functional management
    • Customer-first approach
    • Petcare Portfolio approach balanced with individual brand needs
  • B2B Platform Prioritization
    • Drive site traffic, integrate with other internal workstreams, personalize and target, do progressive profiling, content strategy work, etc.
    • Partner with agency partners, Corporate Communications, Legal, Regulatory, Operations, Customer Experience, Market Research, US Digital and Data, Petcare Digital and Data, eCommerce, Retail, B2C, Brand Teams, and more to advocate for B2B Petcare presence on Zoetis US digital properties that reflects Petcare Portfolio approach, customer needs and marketing goals
  • B2B Zoetis Petcare Portfolio, Above Brand Resource Development Prioritization
    • Facilitate Marketing Cloud journeys for brands to leverage, including lapsed customer journey, new customer journey, etc.
    • Develop resources to drive awareness of the “Zoetis Petcare” branding for professional audience
    • Develop resources in the above brand space that field force can leverage
    • Simplify and streamline by working with brand teams to define connections between brands and portfolios, that resonate with customers and ultimately, help the field force “do more in less time”
    • Partner with Sales Leadership
  • B2B Content Planning and Digital Campaign Prioritization
    • Content planning in partnership with Content Manager, Professional Communications
    • Digital campaign planning to improve customer engagement
    • Drive awareness of Zoetis Petcare and our brands
    • Deploy targeted campaigns by customer segment and improve digital presence (e.g., web sites, visual assets, sales collateral, etc.)
    • Leverage marketing automation and CRM tools to generate leads, nurture the customer relationship, encourage referrals and drive purchases on our ecommerce platform

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Mastery of digital marketing and extensive working knowledge with proven success driving a digital first approach
  • Mastery of strategic marketing, brand maintenance, and marketing/finance principles
  • Excellent understanding of customer experience principles in a B2B market
  • Strong presentation/facilitation skills with large and small audiences
  • Strong communication and team-building skills across company functions
  • Strong organizational savvy and project leadership skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of working in a matrix organization
  • Responsible steward of resources
  • Operate honestly, transparently and with integrity – day in and day out
  • Persevere, meet challenges and bounce back from adversity or set backs

DESIRED REQUIREMENTS

  • Seasoned professional with regard to managing agency partnerships, budget, colleague interactions, project management, deliverables, and deadlines
  • 14+ years’ experience in marketing with a strong track record of driving effective business and digital strategies

  • Strong business acumen with ability to think strategically and innovatively
  • Experience in developing content strategies for broad portfolios of products and solutions

  • Proven experience directing and managing agency relationships
  • Demonstrated planning and execution skills across multiple projects
  • Demonstrated blend of creative and analytical talent
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or a related field
  • MBA preferred
