ROLE OVERVIEW

The Senior Marketing Manager, US Pork will be responsible for defining strategy, planning, forecasting, product development, and ultimately be accountable for P&L results. The incumbent will be responsible for developing winning marketing strategies for the entire portfolio of brands in Pork. Responsible for analyzing current and future market conditions and identifying opportunities for the Pork portfolio. Develop and execute plans to optimize key brand positioning, market share, revenue targets, and lifecycle efforts for the brands. Leverage account data, market research and advisory boards to measure brand equity, positioning, and purchase intentions, and act upon identified drivers of brand adoption or rejection. Optimize resources, including promotional budget and team resources to maximize revenue and profitability. Be accountable for overall brand communications of strategy and tactics to internal and external audiences. Responsibilities range from conducting or overseeing market assessments, competitive strategy, and working in close partnership with Research & Development and Commercial Operations to ensure the portfolio is in leading position. Partner with Commercial Development to develop product opportunities and assessments by providing customer focused input or insight to enhance the value of products and services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop, implement, and measure marketing initiatives which support the immediate and long-term growth of the Zoetis Pork portfolio.

Lead the strategic planning efforts for the portfolio including market and competitive analysis, brand positioning, value proposition, account-based activation and development of a communications plan focused on both external and internal customers.

Actively work with multiple internal stakeholders (marketing, technical services, sales, market research, regulatory, finance, product supply, channel) and all necessary external vendors to maintain strong market growth and increase demand for the portfolio.

Leverage portfolio synergies and value-added services.

Provide feedback and manage communications to appropriate Zoetis senior management.

Maintains contact with key customers and industry influencers, in coordination with commercial operations.

Works with Commercial Operations to develop and execute the marketing plan to achieve Zoetis financial goals for the portfolio in the short, medium, and long term.

Coordinates with Marketers from other business units to find synergies which maximize the total return to Zoetis.

Contribute to the development of a rolling 3-year operating plan (including marketing objectives and strategies, segmentation brand positioning, pricing, brand life cycle planning, distribution, promotion, and competitive action) for the Pork portfolio.

Manage aligned Advertising & Promotion budget including future forecasting and phasing of activities, monthly tracking and accounting of expenses.

Rigorously monitor and gather key customer insights and competitive activities in order to incorporate into effective marketing strategies.

Responsibly invest resources and monitor portfolio financial performance. Use financial analysis, forecasting analysis, and sound financial management skills to ensure a favorable return for assets invested.

Manage and maintain ongoing relationship with agencies.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

8+ years’ experience in Business-to-business (B2B) Marketing, preferably in the Animal Health or similar industry with a history of demonstrated success in delivering business results in innovative and rapidly changing environment.

Strong business acumen with ability to think strategically and innovatively.

Excellent understanding of account-based marketing.

Excellent understanding of the marketing process and proven ability to develop and deliver best in class integrated marketing plans and programs to address a dynamic market.

Proven ability to think strategically.

Proven analytical skills to assess market conditions and project immediate and long-term growth of assigned portfolio.

Superior customer focus and demonstrated ability to bring compelling solutions to market.

Proven record of taking initiative and accepting challenges.

Ability to favorably influence people without direct authority. Strengths in team and relationship building.

Strong oral and written communication skills required. Able to deliver effective presentations to small and large business groups.

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Agriculture, Marketing, or a related field.

Swine market experience and MBA preferred.
