Laboratory Technician - Contingent Job Description

***THIS IS AN 18-MONTH CONTINGENT POSITION***

Position is located in St. Louis, MO. Local Candidates will be considered.

This position will be in Purina's packaging lab located in our Pilot Plant in St. Louis. The purpose of this team is to prepare packaging samples for multiple departments in Purina.

Job Responsibilities:
• Maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment
• Conduct all activities in compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and required Nestle Purina policies and procedures
• Perform laboratory activities as required to support packaging and product research (such as preparing samples and chemical solutions, performing physical evaluations and running test equipment)
• Effectively communicate test results
• Aid Sr. Packaging Technician in organizing and implementing shelf life studies
• Gather weekly samples due for shelf life studies and manage disposition
• Maintain accurate records of analytical results and other lab instrument and method logs
• Perform minor maintenance on laboratory equipment
• Responsible for shipping, receiving, storage and material disposal activities for the department
