Description

The Alltech® Feed Division is among the leading commercial animal nutrition companies in North America. We employ more than 700 people in the areas of manufacturing, sales and marketing. We offer a full range of animal nutrition products designed to meet the diverse needs of modern livestock and companion animals, including: complete feeds, premixes, feed supplements, block supplements, animal health products and feed ingredients. We are seeking candidates for a full-time position as Food Safety and Quality (FQS) Supervisor to join our Premix manufacturing and Specialty Ingredients distribution located in Mendota, IL.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities for this position will be to develop, maintain and implement updates to the Food Safety and Quality program for Ridley Feed Ingredient’s manufacturing and distribution operations and work in liaison with the North American Corporate Food Safety and Quality department to ensure program alignment with regional and global systems. Other responsibilities include the following: ensure compliance with food safety certifications and applicable regulations pertaining to the production, sale, identification and usage of animal food and health products; conduct internal GMP/food safety audits to ensure compliance with the Food Safety and Quality program and food safety certification(s) the facilities hold, identify deficiencies and, with management direction, ensure continuous improvement initiatives are achieved.

Requirements

Qualified candidates must possess a high school diploma along with 2 years of college at a business or trade school, preferably in the Animal Science field. Other requirements include skills in technical writing, public speaking and proficiency in Microsoft Office. The desired candidate must be familiar with the feed industry and be willing to travel as required. Previous experience in maintaining HACCP and other quality certifications and experience coordinating and supervising a team are highly desirable.
