POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Associate Reliability Engineer is a key position in the reliability and advancement of devices for the animal health industry.

This position will work as an independent contributor in development of test hardware, creation of new test methodologies, and support of existing test designs.

The role is part of an engineering group working toward goals resulting from Quality Control, Engineering and Manufacturing needs.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

The Senior Associate Reliability Engineer will:

· Own small- or assist medium-scale reliability tests for several concurrent projects for products across a development cycle

· Make entries into or create project test plans reflecting ongoing work

· Support data analysis and device teardown to deliver clear findings

· Contribute written results for reports presented to engineering, biological, and non-technical audiences

· Develop technical skillset necessary to grow as a reliability engineer at Zoetis

· Participate in work developing engineering design, analysis and other technical requirements

· Support test and root-cause analysis for mechanical, electrical, or pneumatic subassemblies

· Work with senior engineers writing real-world usage profiles (RWUP) to record accurate test conditions

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required: BS in Engineering (preferred: Electrical, Mechanical, or Biomechanical) with 1+ years test engineering experience in an electro-mechanical device development environment.

Preferred: BS (preferred: Electrical, Mechanical, or Biomechanical) with 3+ years test engineering experience in an electro-mechanical device development environment.

TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

Required:

· Skills in critical thinking and problem solving, planning and organizing, decision-making

· Good communication skills, facilitation and team work capabilities

· Education in statistics-based data analysis (preferred – reliability focus)

· Familiarity with tools such as: root cause (5 why, Ishikawa diagrams), Weibull prediction, warranty estimates

Preferred:

· Verifiable knowledge of ALT, HALT, HASS or environmental testing

· Experience using reliability data analysis packages such as Weibull++. JMP, Minitab, Python

· Project management through JIRA or other equivalent workflow tools

· Experience supporting review/development of statements of work, schematics, and CAD for test hardware

· Skillset in CAD packages such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD

· Software development supporting data acquisition

PHYSICAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Candidate will work at the Durham, NC site in an office or development lab environment. Travel (<10%) to customer facilities will be required.
