As an Associate Manager Safety, you will join our factory in Davenport, Iowa which is home to our largest manufacturing facility since 1927. Originally producing cereal, the factory became a pet food-only manufacturer in the late ‘90’s and as the largest pet food manufacturing facility in the U.S., it carefully produces, packages and ships several varieties of our Dog Chow®, Puppy Chow®, Alpo®, Beneful®, Nestlé Purina ONE®, Cat Chow®, Kitten Chow®, Friskies® and Kit N Kaboodle® brands.
As the Associate Manager Safety, you will be a critical leader in establishing and maintaining the safety-first culture Nestle Purina has long recognized. This role will provide all employees with the tools, programs, policies, and measures to meet the plant’s safety goals. The Associate Manager Safety will also be responsible for relationship building with workers in every part of the factory.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist in development, implementation, and monitoring of safety program to proactively prevent and eliminate injuries
- Investigate work-related injuries, determining preventive measures and root causeanalysis of accident; make recommendations for correction
- Research, develop, and conduct safety training for management, plant, andadministrative group
- Maintain and grow working knowledge of OSHA
Basic Qualifications:
Must be open to relocation to one or more of our 21 production facilities across the U.S
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Industrial Engineering, Busines Management, or related field
Experience: 3+ years of experience in a safety, manufacturing, or military environment
