Job Description

Position Summary:

The Digital Product QA Engineer will be part of a team of engineers devoted to evolving our cloud solution for interconnectivity between in-clinic Practice Management Information System (PIMS) and our Point of Care Diagnostic offerings. Our technology stack is based on microservices deployed in Azure using SQL and Cosmos databases.

In this role, you will work end-to-end in defining and executing informal and formal tests of frontends and backend. In the process, you will work very closely with the developers, UI designers, technical business analysts, and support teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Day-to-day manual verification of tasks ready for test
  • Pre-release formal verification
  • Manual test of user-interfaces
  • Manual and semi-automated tests of APIs
  • Reproduce and document reported issues in Jira
  • Defining and maintaining formal test cases
  • Formal verification and test reports
  • Coordination and communication with support teams
  • Tracking issue in Jira and making sure issues get tested and fixed
  • Organization of daily pre-release bug status meetings
  • Participate in UX reviews and promote and “designed-for-test”

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent
  • 4+ years of experience testing software
  • Experience with testing user interfaces
  • Experience with testing RESTful APIs
  • Experience with Postman/Newman
  • Experience with Jira and\or Azure DevOps
  • Basic understanding of revision systems such as Git

Knowledge, Skills, Ability Requirements:

  • Strong written and verbal communications in English, ability to communicate well with technical, business, and support teams in multiple locations
  • Proficiency and experience with systems integrations, database design, SQL, and/or programming
  • Understanding of various software development lifecycles and agile development methodologies/frameworks
