Role Description:

This role will be expected to author user requirements, standard operating procedures and test scripts to support the roll-out of system enhancements and new products. This role will liaise with a broad number of personnel from the customer support, laboratory operations and product delivery groups to understand end-user requirements and ensure operations documentation is complete and accurate prior to launch of a new process or product.

  • Perform duties in a safe manner. Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Perform duties according to standard operating procedures (SOPs), ensure that required data is properly documented in a timely fashion according to the current SOPs;
  • Report deviations from SOPs, or unexpected results in a timely fashion, in accordance with the organisation’s CAPA (corrective action, preventative action) SOPs;
  • Work collaboratively with other employees to schedule work and ensure its completion;
  • Contribute ideas and participates in initiatives that will lead to continuous improvement of procedures (efficiency and quality);

Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with operations personnel and application developers/business analysts to understand product details and operational workflows;
  • Document the operational user stories and standard operating procedures for system enhancements and new products. This documentation is expected to be high quality and appropriate for use by operations personnel (customer support and laboratory operations);
  • Author test scripts for all business processes and systems. Ensure these test scripts are updated when systems or products are changed;
  • Execute user acceptance testing for system enhancements and new products;
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement process outlined in the business Quality Manual;
  • Aid in the generation and execution of corrective and preventative actions stemming from system issues & errors.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Science or related discipline with three years relevant experience preferred (or equivalent combination of qualifications and experience);
  • Three years experience working in a technical writing or equivalent position;
  • Evidence of authorship essential (technical documents, scientific literature or standard operating procedures);
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, with expert competency in Excel and Outlook
  • Knowledge of Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) applications preferred;
  • Ability to read, author, understand and follow SOPs
  • Strong communication skills, time management skills, team orientation, and work ethic
