Lab Analyst Job Description

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:


•Perform required chemical, physical, and sensory analysis on ingredients and finished products in an accurate and timely manner, notifying the QA Manager, QA Team Leader and appropriate team leaders, buying department, and St. Louis QA immediately of substandard results as appropriate. Hold all substandard materials and communicate as appropriate
•Aseptically sample finished product for microbiological testing
•Perform hand add inventory
•Function as a Quality Liaison by communicating QA goals and vision to all personnel
•Run all Reference, Collaborative, and Proficiency Samples at desired frequency
•Maintain, update and send formulas for batching and production in Format/Carma
•Review and maintain accurate records including GPMQ data entry editing results as necessary
•Train and audit the Material Handling and Production Operators in the proper methods of the sampling and quality testing.
•Maintain and update ingredients used in formulas for batching and production
•Maintain and calibrate lab and unloading test equipment and assist as necessary with the maintenance and calibration of the testing equipment located throughout the plant
•Ingredient Shelf Life Auditing using Batch Management and SAP
•Send VNR notification pertaining to any ingredient test result that is out of specification or out of the control range.
•Train and audit the Material Handling and Production Operators in the proper methods of the sampling and quality testing.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
•Education: High School diploma or GED required. AA degree or equivalent preferred.
•Experience: (Years/Type) Previous QA lab experience preferred.
•Skills: Must have strong computer skills
•Other: Must be authorized to work in the United States. Work overtime and weekends as required.
