Job Description

Location: U.S. Remote

The Product Manager – SearchPoint is responsible for managing the SearchPoint suite of applications throughout the Product Lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with internal stakeholders to achieve defined strategic goals. The Product Manager will partner with key functions including Zoetis Technology and Digital (ZTD), R&D (Zoetis VRMD), Global Genetics, and Global Diagnostics, where appropriate, to lead management of on-market applications, ongoing enhancements and lifecycle extensions, and development of new features / applications that complement the application and expand associated value. The Product Manager establishes the vision from the customer’s perspective with a deep understanding of current opportunities, competitive landscape, and unmet needs. This function directs the relevant cross-functional teams through prioritization and execution of product break-fix needs, constant maintenance and performance improvements, and delivering enhancements and new innovations that create long-term customer value. This position could also require supporting commercial partnerships, key accounts, and vendor relationships and travel both domestically and internationally (up to 20%). This position will work remotely in the United States.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Define the product strategy and actively manage a lifecycle plan that aligns with growth targets
  • Define target customer segments and ensure alignment of the application against defined needs
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the competitive landscape and industry trends
  • Develop and execute marketing plans in collaboration with relevant commercial functions including effective use of agencies where appropriate
  • Develop and execute plans to effectively develop, maintain, and leverage relevant KOL’s and strategic partners to drive adoption
  • Define and track relevant KPI’s related to product use
  • Effectively serve as the Voice of Customer to inform product development and lifecycle strategies
  • Operate as product owner in software development and release processes
  • Partner with IT, digital, and commercial teams in the development of software solutions
  • Deliver on open items in product backlog with planned release schedule
  • Drive facets of new product launches and rollout of enhancements across global markets by coordinating engagement with stakeholders in commercial units and managing applicable resources including launch materials, user guides, demonstration resources, and product playbooks
  • Translating customer needs into requirements for technical teams
  • Develop the core positioning and messaging for the product
  • Act as a leader within the company
  • Define the problem statement and maintain product backlog by:
    • Aligning with Commercial teams on product strategy and financial goals
    • Monitoring product performance using Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
    • Detecting and proposing necessary product updates
    • Providing ROI assessments for projects
    • Bringing on-the-ground feedback into product backlog with long-term strategy in mind
    • Knowing the product users and product and connecting the two into clear product requirements
    • Putting emphasis on continuous improvement and prioritization
    • Understanding when to make tradeoffs in investing between projects
  • Communicate regularly with Commercial teams with product update and deployment plans
  • Develop presentations for status and future strategies for the product

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • B.S. in relevant field
  • Advanced degree (e.g., MS, MBA, DVM) in relevant field preferred

Experience

  • Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in customer-oriented roles with exposure to marketing, information systems, application management, and/or strategy
  • Excellent computer literacy in Microsoft Applications such as Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience working with IT and/or commercial teams using agile software development methodologies highly desirable
  • Good knowledge of commercial management of digital solutions is highly desirable.
  • Relevant applied experience in livestock production and knowledge of producer and veterinary needs is strongly desired
