(Archived) Manager/TL Capital Project Engineering

Job Description

The Manager is responsible for leadership of the capital project team and processes, including master planning, annual forecasting, project spend tracking and updates to site leadership. Interacts with management and site “customer” groups to establish and define requirements for assigned facility, utility, packaging, and manufacturing projects.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES:

  • General Responsibilities
  • Provides leadership and coaching to site and contract capital project managers and technical support staff.
  • Develops Capital and Expense budget requests for future projects during annual budget cycle.
  • Manages the site capital plan to align with site needs and master plan.
  • Ensures project managers and all projects follow the site defined Project Management processes.
  • Maintains frequent communication and conducts regularly scheduled meetings with site leadership and project stakeholders.
  • Promotes the culture of continuous improvement within the project engineering team.
  • Improves processes through use of six sigma tools and principles.
  • Interfaces with Zoetis GMS Capital Governance Team to ensure project compliance with applicable capital and quality standards.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors or Masters level degree (Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering, preferred) with 5 - 10 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Possess good understanding of pharmaceutical operations along with technical proficiency in capital project engineering.
  • Certificates, Licenses or Registrations: PMP Certification or PE License preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork and problem-solving skills. Motivated, self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to values-based leadership and achieving objectives in a manner that is supportive of the Zoetis Core Beliefs.
  • Demonstrated leadership, management and technical capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with all levels of the Zoetis organization.
