Alltech is seeking an experienced Sr. Manufacturing Engineer for the Global Engineering Team. At Alltech we support our customers by providing regional production facilities, keeping finished product close to the end user. Additionally, Alltech is looking into invest additional greenfield production facilities. This key role will be instrumental to build operational excellence capabilities and foster continuous improvements both vertically and horizontally across organization to enhance process reliability, increase capacity, build capabilities of internal resources, improve safety, quality performance, competitive cost and meet customer demands. The Sr. Manufacturing Engineer has the opportunity leading and or supporting various capital projects locally and globally including overseeing the new construction projects as well as value- engineering and process optimizing the existing plants globally.

  • Identify, prioritize, and lead process improvement Kaizen and Projects initiatives to improve flow, reduce waste, improve efficiency, cycle time and throughputs using applicable PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Act), Lean, Six Sigma and or project management tools and techniques such as: Value Stream /Process Mapping, RCA, etc.
  • Support identification and elimination of largest sources of loss through relentless process robustness focus, including investigation and solution implementation program.
  • Provide ongoing applicable training, coaching and implementation support to sites before, during and after project and process improvement deployment. Track impact and value delivery.
  • Build capability of internal resources in areas of process improvement, project management and technical operations by developing and implanting targeted training programs.
  • Support identification, prioritization and deployment of the capital and project management program
  • Partner with site leadership to develop, implement and track Key Performance Indicators for all functions to further foster culture of continuous improvement and accountability.


  • Review current production processes to gain insight an understanding for the how the process is operated.
  • Conduct analysis of current production processes and provide recommendations for optimizing the overall process, as a primary effort in increasing volume, improving production, yield, energy efficiency, environmental impact, operating and maintenance cost.
  • Manage construction and new process projects from $50,000 to $5,000,000.
  • Apply good leadership and team skills to achieve or exceed the expected quality level of work.
  • Generate weekly status reports of projects throughout duration of deployment for Global Project staff to review.
  • Perform all tasks in compliance with Alltech Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Safety, and best practices.

  • Must have a Bachelor’s of Science from an accredited institution in one of the following areas:
    • Chemical Engineering (Preferred)
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Biochemical Engineering
    • Any other engineering degree
  • 10-15 years of experience, minimum required
  • Experience in core technologies for Alltech: drying, distillation, pneumatic conveying, fermentation, rotating equipment, heat transfer, general plant utilities (steam, compressed air)
  • Must be a self-starter, highly motivated, and reliable
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge and/or experience project management, process improvements helping to improve process and build capabilities across site teams.
  • Knowledge and / or experience in process excellence and performance improvement tools, techniques, and roadmaps such as: Lean, PDCA, Six Sigma belts, Kaizen, Process mapping, waste reduction, etc.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification is preferred.
  • Experience in coaching and influencing senior leaders; collaboration across various levels of the organization and reaching alignment on goals, targets, etc.
  • Proven in successfully executing projects. PMP certification is preferred.
  • Languages: English – Required;
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
  • Must have the ability to work in hot conditions and in occasionally dusty environments.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods of time and may occasionally be required to lift items up to 60lbs.
  • Hours: Day 1st shift Monday to Friday (8 am -5 pm), with occasional support during off hours and / or weekends
  • Approximately 30% travel; potential extended international travel
