As a Manufacturing Senior Automation Engineer, you will perform a variety of engineering activities in support of manufacturing automation equipment, including machine design, machine controls (PLC/HMI), SCADA, automation software, robotics, machine vision, debug & testing, validating, troubleshooting, process improvements, etc. This is an opportunity to drive results by leading cross-functional efforts across multiple product lines. What you can expect in this role You will leverage your automation engineering skills and experience in designing, integrating, debugging, testing, validating, and troubleshooting high-speed medical device automation equipment, including process improvements of existing automation, including machine design, automation controls, interfaces, programmable logic controllers (PLC’s), HMIs, automaton software, robotics, machine vision, SCADA, etc. You will coordinate with engineering, production, and other areas to ensure that automation is correctly integrated into the overall manufacturing process. You will develop and recommend procedures and methods, including preparing technical reports and documentation. You will exercise analytical skills and tools to draw insights from large amounts of manufacturing data. In addition to your current areas of expertise, you will have the opportunity to learn and grow your skills within a wide variety of disciplines. What you will need to succeed 5+ years of experience designing and building automation and manufacturing equipment. Experienced with high-speed manufacturing, automation, and process control equipment. Strong mechanical engineering machine design or automation controls background with experience designing automated production equipment and an in depth understanding of how a manufacturing and automation system functions. Ability to perform analysis with alternate scenarios and make recommended reasonable changes in the proposed machine/automation to optimize machine/process OEE. Ability to manage tasks and projects through to successful completion and attainment of goals. Ability to communicate to technical and non-technical personnel verbally and in writing. Ability to work collaboratively as members of cross-functional teams. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Computer literacy is essential - Microsoft Windows, Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project), Smartsheet, and other engineering software as required. Ability to prioritize tasks & manage a demanding workload. Display quality orientation and attention to detail. Embraces a growth mindset. Quick learner with the desire and ability to learn and grasp new technology, equipment, and skills. An understanding of data with a Six Sigma mindset. A keen analytical mind and a logical approach to problem solving. Excellent communication and presentation skills to enable understanding and discussion of issues. Ability to communicate to technical and non-technical personnel verbally and in writing. FDA & GMP manufacturing and validation experience prefered. Solidworks and autocad experience preferred.
