Job Description:
Senior member of the corporate tax function reporting directly to the Senior Director of Tax Planning. This position will be responsible for overseeing the US international tax compliance, reporting, as well as driving the efforts to properly calculate and model Subpart F, GILTI, BEAT, FDII, and FTCs and maintaining the tax attributes of Zoetis’ CFCs such as E&P, PTEP, and tax basis. Responsibilities also include supporting all aspects of tax planning, including effective collaboration with the tax accounting team to ensure tax accounting and reporting aspects are properly considered, and developing and executing on strategies and policies in line with the goals and objectives of the Global Tax Department and Zoetis.
Responsibilities:
- Leads the quarterly and annual calculation of Subpart F, GILTI, BEAT, FDII and FTC for tax provision purposes, identifies transactions that have tax implications, and model the impact of various planning scenarios on the company’s tax profile.
- Oversees the review of US international income tax returns, including 5471s, 8858s, 8865s, 1118, 5713, 8990, 8991, 8992 and 8993 and ensures timely filing, completeness, and accuracy of such returns.
- Oversees the review of disclosure statements and elections related to acquisitions, restructurings and tax planning.
- Maintains E&P, PTEP, tax basis, and recapture computations of the company’s foreign subsidiaries.
- Identifies and implements strategies to drive efficiencies in the US international tax filing, compliance and reporting processes.
- Researches complex tax issues for tax planning, tax accounting, compliance and reporting and supports international tax projects including M&A due diligence and post-acquisition integration.
- Monitors US and international income tax legislation and evaluates impact to the company.
- Collaborates with Treasury to develop tax-efficient repatriation strategies that are in line with the goals of the company and execute on such strategies.
- Leads and develops through coaching, mentoring, and training junior tax professionals.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent.
- Master’s Degree in Taxation preferred.
- CPA strongly preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 10 years combined public accounting and/or corporate experience with emphasis, on modeling, Subpart F and US tax reform calculations and US international tax compliance.
- Comprehensive knowledge of US international tax laws including the provisions under the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 and the expense allocation and apportionment rules of IRC Section 861 and the regulations thereunder.
- Strong knowledge of international tax concepts such as Subpart F, foreign currency, cash repatriation, tax pools, foreign tax reconciliations, foreign tax credits, Forms 5471, 8858, 8865, 1118, 8990, 8991, 8992 and 8993 and other reporting.
- Understanding of tax planning and tax accounting.
- Experience in identifying, analyzing and communicating complex US international income tax issues, tax accounting issues and related implications on the company.
- Experience maintaining tax accounting and compliance software, OneSource Tax Provision and OneSource Income Tax experience preferred.
